probably not new news, but enquirer.com wrote an article, and even titled it "Cronin rips conference realignment again" Sounds like even they are getting tired of his act. The article is a mash up of his "It's all about the money and nobody gives a darn about the students, and citing the WVU 800 miles to the closest home game" Same tirade he went on after Marshall. IT ends with his waxing nostalgic about the last real Big East tournament and all,
in the middle it claims somebody challenged him saying that maybe coaches make too much money. He then went on a tirade about how he has to raise $250,000 a year just to keep his program up to shape, as if he is their personal fundraiser and how the Olympic sports really suffer. I like the line about how he started out making $800 and having to drive the team around in a car with no grill.
Cronin was really on a roll tonight, then again, maybe he figures it will be the last post game press conference where he is playing a game anybody cares about.

It's embarrassing how much he whines.
I hate the argument that college athletes are exploited, especially people who coach at the college level. Get out if you think that is true, and don't feed the beast you seem to hate so much.

If Little Mickey is so much against realignment, I'm sure that "in the interests of the student-athletes" like Gwyn, SucKS will decline an invitation to the ACC...if magically it ever came.

He's totally oblivious to the fact that conference realignment is what got UC in the Big East in the first place and it had nothing to do with their basketball program. Basically, as of now anyway, UC is right back where they were before conference realignment.
I don't mind when the Boeheim's, Thompson's, Calhoun's and other Big Esat old guard go on about about how sad it is, but the Big East their talking about has absolutely nothing to do with UC. When Syracuse announced they were leaving for the ACC, Boeheim commented that the Big East that SU was leaving wasn't the same Big East anymore; he was specifically refering to programs like SFla and UC.
Mick Cronin hands down is the biggest POS on the face of the earth; it's not even close. In today's economy, with so many bright and talented people looking for work, how this guy holds down a $1m+ job is beyond me.Last edited by SM#24; 03-15-2013 at 08:23 AM.

If Mick was really concerned about the academic side of things, then the ACC will most certainly never let UC in.

Ah, cut poor Mick some slack. He may be the first major conference head coach to return to the mid-major coaching ranks without changing schools. That's gotta sting.
It is a shame that UC is so committed to their football program. Otherwise, I would suggest UC consider joining the Atlantic Ten if this America-12/Metro league thing doesn't work out.

Mick should go back to Conference USA and join Memphis. Then that conference would have 2 somewhat decent programs.
