INCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 4-2, bring a two-game winning streak into a Monday night game vs. the visiting Oakland University Grizzlies, 3-3. Game time is 6:30 p.m. at Cintas Center.

Xavier is playing the second game of a season-long six-game homestand.

Had Michigan on my mind because spent the last four days there. Like all states, it just feels different…

Rocket Watts, one of Oaklands starting guards, was once almost a Xavier player. He was ranked 39th in the country his senior year and it came down to Michigan State and X. He choose MSU and played there for 2 years before transferring to Miss St and then to Oakland. Not a great shooter but very quick in transition and like to shot a floater from the lane.

Jordan Crawford is a big Rocket Watts guys.

Illinois was tied 48 all with Oakland before going on a 16-5 run to close the game out. Ohio State beat Oakland by 6 in a game that was tight all the way. So it should be an interesting game.

Oakland plays a matchup zone, like Bryant did. X needs to push the ball and not allow them to set it up. When they do have a chance to set it up, X needs to give the ball to their bigs and allow them to take advantage of their size difference. Don’t fall in love with the 3.

The Oakland coach is a dead ringer for a Huggy Bear brother.

Feel like the over is going to be safe. Questioning why x was favored by 15 based on earlier results from Oakland.

We are playing a little sloppy.

Alright. Interior d needs to be a whole lot better in the 2nd half like it was that last play. Plenty to work on, on that side of the ball.

That would be a good thing.

And the O could drive the ball to the basket and not try to be a bunch of Steph’s. There’s only one person who can do that.

Gettig creamed in the paint. Swain too small. Need to have Abou stick on Townsend. I like the drives by McKnight and Claude.
