This kid looks to have nice size for a SG and can really hit the 3. Scout has him as #62 overall and the #13 SG. Rivals has him as #80 overall.
Several teams have offered, most teams interested are in the NE/NJ area plus a few more like UC, WVU and us. We'll see how it plays out.
With Thomas likely to decommit as Rasheen leaves, we may really want to go after this kid as hard as we were before Thomas committed.
I think this guy would be a helluva pick up, it just depends whose going after him now. Rasheen was our best recruiter, so hopefully Mack and company can figure out what to do..

According to Davon's blog post on Zagoria's page XU has made it to his final 8 schools. We are competing with Louisville, UC, UConn, Memphis, Miami (FL), Harvard, and Wake Forest.
"I see these select schools providing me with a great education, a chance to compete for a national title and opportunity to advance my game to the next level. I am feeling really good about my decision."
Uhh, ok. I get Louisville, UConn, Memphis, XU and UC (albeit barely) for title and education. Just don't see title hopes at either Harvard or Miami.

Reed is visiting Wake on Friday, Miami on Sept 14th, and XU on Oct 4th.

He says he'll be making his choice most likely by the end of fall (I'll just interpret that as fall semester), but based on when these visits are happening, it wouldn't surprise me if he commits just before the Early Signing Period begins on November 3rd. That's also about a week before the high school basketball season starts too, so it would be the opportune time. Just speculation, but what I do know is that I've always really wanted X to get this kid. He's a very well-rounded player and an exceptionally bright one too.Quote:

People want to rip GladdenGuy because he has been "too negative" on the boards, but he's been trying to tell people for a little while now that Xavier was out with Reed and it was going to be Miami. Assuming the recruiting just takes a one year hit, you're right. But if this is something that affects 2013, 2014 and maybe more classes, X Hoops is going to be in a bad, bad way. Now, we really won't know any of that until it actually unfolds so it doesn't make sense to get overly worked up. But, I do think there is some cause for concern based on how the 2013 class seems to be reacting to X.Quote:

It's unlucky but not the end of the world. I'm more worried about getting a big man more than a guard, our guard positions are stacked for the next few years. I wouldn't have minded another good guard though!! Still, our questions are the 4-5 position, let's not freak about the 2.
By the way, everyone who reads the same premium sites as GG knew that Xavier wasn't the leader in this recruitment. Would have been nice to get Reed on campus but the "recruiting gurus" have been saying Xavier is behind and needed to catch up.Quote:

What worries me about Patterson is that he already passed up on an opportunity to play for X once. My understanding is that after he was denied entry to IU he was still fully cleared and could have joined XU immediately for this year.
