ESPN has him as a 4 star and a 93. #12 PG in the class. We go after a stud point guard in every class these days.
Point guards are a precious commodity. I think it is the most important position on any team, and it is difficult to win without a good one.

I really want this kid to be a Muskie. He is a high level scorer and can play multiple positions.
This kid seems to have all the tools. I also like the fact that he is 6'4". That is the size gaurds we need to be really competitive on a national level. He and Semaj Christon would make a nice back court.

xavier isnt in his top 4 anymore
Not premium info, but twitter was all over this article and a couple of different recruiting guys said Matthews is not down to 4 schools and it was a misunderstanding by the author.
Tweet from one of his coaches:
Nate Schmidt @NSchmidtA2
EC Matthews 2013 G Romulus/The Family has not narrowed his list of schools...to clear up reports he does not have a top 4...
I would guess that if Matthews got a Xavier offer tomorrow he would have us right up there at or near the top of his list.
Matthews off the board to Rhode Island. I know UD had offered, not sure on X.
Just goes to show you that you can't trust all these "sources" and Final Five lists that come out.
