-A lot of Republicans threw a fit over mail in ballots. Trump himself said to his base not to vote by mail. So, is it really any surprise that so few of them did?? It also appeared at times that things were being done to slow down the mail (ie removing sorting machines). There were certain states where they didn't even want them opening the mail in ballots prior to Election Day. Then, they wonder why it's taking so long and demand that the counting be stopped because they think they're counting rigged votes!!?? No, they're not rigged ballots. They're ballots that are taking longer to count because the procedures that were put in place were seemingly done so with the intention of making this take longer.

If anyone is trying to steal the election, it's Trump. He is now making wild and baseless accusations. The alleged 'vote dumps' were bogus, the allegations of states having more people vote than who was registered to vote were bogus, the fact that a lot of the mail-in votes are going for Biden is TOTALLY understandable, each polling place allows for poll watchers where candidates and parties can appoint people to be there and observe and so far as I know none of the poll watchers who actually have credentials to be there have cried foul. People who just randomly show up on their own and demand to be able to go wherever they want is not the same thing as a credentialed poll watcher that was selected by a candidate or by a party. Trump is a liar who is losing because he isn't popular. It has nothing to do with this being rigged.

Agree with most of this. The annoying part now is that because trump is going to lose, we are now going to hear about lawsuits on a daily basis for at least the next month. Let's get biden in office, republican Senate and tread water for the next 4 years until we get some competent (dem or pub) n the president seat to actually enact legislation.

It's a "down ballot" race.

The 7th district voted for Trump in 2016 and it was a major target for Rs to pick up a seat in the House. You're argument is a non starter.

It would seem like a number of states that the vote count is very close, fall into the necessary area where a re-count can be requested.
If one is requested in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, etc., then we might not have certified counts before another week or two.

I need more bourbon.

They voted for Trump in 2016, yet elected a Democratic congressman the same year.

If they counted them right the first time, a recount won't change the results because the difference will be infinitesimal. In my opinion they should always count everything twice anyway to make sure the results are close enough to where you know you got it right the first time. Hell, that's what they do at the bank if you make a large cash deposit. So, I say go ahead and recount them if that's what the want.

So it looks like Trump is going to lose, very likely by 36 (I think) electoral votes. Fivethirtyeight is projecting that Biden will likely win PA by 2%-3% once all votes are counted. Georgia still seems like a toss up, and Arizona will probably be very close - but I would guess that both will slightly go for Biden.

This where a normal presidential candidate would concede, as you would have to win multiple unlikely legal challenges in different states. Trump obviously won't do that. I'd imagine that the next few weeks will be a complete flaming shit show.

Key questions (kind of tongue-in-cheek):

1. Will they have to remove Trump from office at any point and install Pence to serve out the rest of the term?
2. Will Trump and his advisers rip up the carpet, sledgehammer the toilets, etc. in the White House like an angry evictee?

I assume it's a given that this will be a very 'interesting' transition.

I'm kinda wondering about scenario #1. If he continues to go apeshit, then I'd be for removing him. You'd say to the Republicans in the House and Senate "Look, he clearly lost, and he's clearly acting like a child, which is clearly not good for the country. Him staying does nothing to help your party or platform. If anything it is weakened. Let's 25th Amendent this guy."

As far as contesting the election and investigating the results, my feelings are this...GO AHEAD! As I stated earlier, I think the allegations of corruption fall somewhere between being completely false, or at the very least ridiculously overblown. All any thorough investigation will do is demonstrate that the election was fair (so long as the investigation itself is fair). So if an investigation will help give more people confidence that the election was legitimate, then go ahead and investigate it. Elections should be able to stand up to heavy and fair scrutiny anyway.

But, under one condition, if this investigation shows that there was no fraud, which I'm almost certain that it would, THEN SHUT THE HELL UP, GET THE HELL OUT, AND STAY THE HELL OUT!!!!

If there is an audio book version that he himself reads, it will sell 100 million copies. Which...I don't get. I mean I do get it, but I don't get it. I've had more than enough of this guy. I'd love it if he would just make it so that you can ignore him if you want to. Right now, you can't. He's the political version of Lavar Ball. He won't go away.
