Omicron that’s why. Do you believe counting and tracking cases is important now? Because I thought you were in the camp that it doesn’t really matter. And I would agree. Hospitalizations and deaths (what truly matters) are still highest per capita in unvaccinated individuals. And if we want to include those not boosted that would be fine too.

The level of antibodies needed to fight off this variant are higher. It’s not really all that much milder for those without prior immunity. You mentioned vaccinated getting this variant but you didn’t mention those previously infected. I’ve seen a lot of reinfections with this variant, some even that had covid in September/October. The data out there supports that.

This variant flames out so fast, hopefully once the dust settles there is a worldwide push to fully vaccinate (which in my mind is 3+ shots) as many people as possible. And even more important, develop a vaccine that has better durability.

Why are you pushing these shots so hard? You getting paid by Pfizer per dose? There’s a reason that mRNA vaccines have not been used (or approved) in the decade plus that the tech has been under development. They don’t work, there’s no long term clinical data on relative risk of developing other conditions from exposure to the vaccine, safety data is suspect at best. There’s something inherently dangerous in inserting strands of mRNA into ourselves that we just have to trust these companies QCed these lots. If the sequence is off one or two nucleotides what happens? Do we get a prion? Do we get a carcinogenic agent? It’s an absolute joke that these vaccines underwent so little safety testing. I also think it’s ironic that all these liberals screaming about not wanting a “trump vaccine” are willingly injecting themselves over and over with a vaccine made possible through his efforts.

The fact that the drug companies coerced complete immunity from any repercussions says a lot about even their confidence in the vaccine and the whole process.

Obviously I’m not going to change you opinion on these vaccines but to say they don’t work? They prevent hospitalization and death better than anything we have to fight this. You ask if the sequence is off? How would that happen? Prions? What evidence is there of this? Zero. Without the vaccine we would have seen a level of illness and death you could not fathom. I don’t get any kickbacks from Pfizer or Moderna. I just want my life back and the last 1-2 weeks have finally been close to normal for the first time in awhile. However, somewhere in the world is a region without access to the vaccine and when there are large amounts of populations unvaccinated we see developments of variants. Regarding your political comment it’s equally ironic Trump was largely responsible for developing and getting this vaccine out so quick (remarkable process really) yet look how many loyal to him refuse to get the vaccine. Isn’t that ironic too?
