Well, Covid got me. My kids brought it home from pre school, likely from their teachers who have it (but who knows maybe they all got it from other kids or wherever).

My wife has it and one of my triplets confirmed to have it. We only had 3 tests so our other 3 kids werent tested but I am sure they have it.

Luckily due to an exposure right before Christmas I got the monoclonal antibody infusion the day after Christmas so hoping that keeps my symptoms mild.

I also heard that you can get reimbursed from insurance for home tests. Anybody else hear this and any other details?

When you get a positive result are they able to tell you which strain or do we assume it is omicron at this point?

They can tell the strain. My sister-in-law had a houseful for Christmas, and 10 of 12 people there got covid. It was Delta. Thankfully nobody got very sick. They were all vaccinated, and most were boosted as well.

Yes it is Rx only and pretty limited stock for the time being. Also not available at retail pharmacies for the most part. ODH distributed to places that do monoclonal treatment (mostly hospital systems) to use in the same manner - high risk patients.

Both. Generally state health departments take a small percentage of positive tests and sequence them. The week before Christmas was the changing of the guard so to speak nationally. But patients don’t actually get informed which strain they have. In the scenario X-man presented I would be shocked if it were Delta as the vaccines/boosters hold up very well against Delta. Omicron, not so much which is why we see more breakthroughs and mild cases. If there’s more breakthroughs/reinfections (which nobody is talking about), there’s more mild cases. It’s still quite dangerous in those without prior immunity. You can track variants sampled from your region here. Ohio is region 5.

I did an at home test so would not be able to tell you the strain.
