Did not expect six innings from Alazaus. Impressive. And our third baseman just redeemed himself with a web gem. 9 more outs!

Saw the lineup. Guess not.
He's been real efficient so far - only 55 pitches thru 5 with X leading 1-0 in the middle of the inning.
X up 4-0 top of the 6th
3-run homer by Andrew Walker helped give X some much-needed breathing room. Could blow it open even further in the bottom of the 7th.
And more insurance in the form of a 2-run single by McCormick.
Finish this off then Go Ducks. Xavier might be able to surprise Vandy once. No way we're beating Vandy twice. At least very unlikely.

It was nice of Oregon to get to Vandy's starter early and wear out their bullpen a bit. It can't be understated how important it was for Bosacker to throw a complete game; the shutout was a bonus.
Luke Hoskins is all but certain to be the ace of the pitching staff in 2024; here's a great opportunity to get a head start on that.
Today's game wiil be at 3 PM on ESPNU against Vandy.

Both of the balls were scalded in the 3rd inning; not gonna get on Stephenson for that one.
But this Vandy pitcher looks like he's going to bail his bullpen out at this rate.
