Just to be clear that article was pure speculation. Some teams the guy thought could be interested and why. Though cohens relationship with him certainly is a good thing.
Disappointing for Nzeh. Thought he was starting to show some good reason to be happy for his future. But if he wants a big role next year, it wasn’t going to be at Xavier. And a reminder going to portal doesn’t mean they are leaving. I believe KyKy went to portal and came back.
By all means. And I expect there to be quite a few more who test the portal. It’s a new era, and that’s just part of it. I’d only really expect McKnight hunter and Freemantle back 100%. Anyone else testing the portal won’t surprise me
I would have preferred that all 3 freshmen would come back. Each guys was at least somewhat productive, and you could see the potential in each. Figured they would have a role.
Nzeh leaving could tell us more about Ciani and Abou. If both of those guys are coming back, then Nzeh was probably further down on the depth chart. Alternatively, if those guys were leaving, then you would think there would be minutes for Nzeh.
We do need to rebuild the roster but was hoping we would not lose Nzeh. He is big, strong and athletic and although probably not likely to garner bunches of minutes next year, I could see a role for him in the following years. Still, thought he might stay. Miller talked on one his recent radio shows about the importance of continuity year to year, and he seemed to like Kachi.
Nzeh was the one I thought had the biggest upside as a possible real banger and rebounder. I don’t think that he will ever be a polished offense player, but I like his motor and intensity. I hope he ends up coming back.
