Yunegling is similar to Sam but Sam has a slightly better finish. Take a sniff of it....I still think it had similarities to Bud. I do agree that you could put a number of the Yunegling's back pretty easily. Anxious to try the Great Lakes Christmas Ale.
Good call on the Hudepohl Amber / Yeungling Lager comparison. My friends and I have been saying the same thing for months. That's why I never understood the Yeungling craze. I mean, you've already got something very similar and it's local...probably about the same price too.
For those of us that like some body to our beer and dont want to put back 5 or 6 200-300 calorie beers when we drink, Yuenging is an excellent choice. Medium body, pretty smooth.
Dont shoot me, but Michelob Ultra Amber is also pretty good and a great alternative to the domestic light beers....Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light.
Had this one in Chi-Town recently. Was great. Hopefully I can find it in Indiana.

Had the Rivertown Winter Ale last night. It's decent, maybe a bit too strong on the cinnamon though. I might get it again, but probably wouldn't drink more than 2 in a sitting and obviously only during a cold winter night.
Tonight I picked up Panzer Wolf by Three Floyds and Robert Johnson's Hellhound on My Ale and & Pearl Jam's Faithfull Ale by Dogfish Head. Haven't had any of these yet, but 3 Floyds and Dogfish Head are two of my favorite brewers. I'll let you know what I thought of them.

Get yourself some draft Christmas Ale on draft at your local before it runs out. One of the best from Great Lakes Brewing Co. Yes, I know we have spoken of this beer previously, but it really is a wonderful brew.
In times of division, sometimes its best to move on to something in which we have a common interest. How about BEER!!!!!!
In February, there are now two beer tasting events.
On Feb 4 (same day as the Memphis Game) - There is the Winter Edition of the Cincinnati Brew Ha Ha. It surely gains points for being held in our very own Cintas Center. For somewhere in the neighborhood of $35-$50 you get a comedy show and 25 beer tastings with 80+ beers to choose from. VIP gets floor seats, an extra hour of tasting, and 6 special VIP only beer selections.
Then the next week - Feb 10 and 11 is the winter Cincinnati Beer Fest - Duke Energy Convention Center. These guys don't claim to have a comedy show - but they are claiming something like 300+ different beers to sample. $35 for standard, $45 for VIP (order before Christmas and get the VIP pack for the same price as general admission) General admission gets you 25 5 oz. tastes, the VIP pack gets you 25 EIGHT Oz. tastes. And an extra half hour. Be sure to arrange transportation if you intend on doing all 25 8oz. tastes. Then they have the Conosieur Package - $75 - gets you another extra half hour, front of the line privileges, private restrooms, and access to the second floor where there will be food and beer pairings. Also special rare beers only available to this level credential.
So what say you, anybody planning on one of these events, or both? Anybody with past experience know which one is better? (Bang for your buck)
(From what I understand the 25 tickets is to provide you with more tickets than you could reasonably be expected to use, so in reality the beer samples are free, but liquor laws would forbid free sampling)
