People will be unhappy and get over it, just like they did the last time, and Xavier basketball will be better off for it in the end.
Seems like a win to me.

I am 100% on board with increased ticket prices. I have revised my personal charitable giving plans to increase my giving to X this year and for at least the next five years. Will also be looking into planned giving options. I'm all in on X.
But I do NOT want to move from my current seats. I think it's ridiculous for X to have all season ticket holders go through the process, and have no option for people who are willing to pay more to keep their seats. For example, if X gave the option of "Pay a one time fee equal to 2x your current seat license fee and you can keep your current seats, or, alternatively, you can enter the seat realignment process" I would do that in a second. But there is no such option.
I want to give more money, and I also want to keep my current seats. I don't think that is unreasonable, and I certainly do not think it is whining.
MOR, do you understand the difference? I would think you of all people would understand. You aren't a huge donor, but you have been a fan for 50+ years. Same with me. Not a huge donor, but 40+ years of rabid fandom, including 20+ years as a season ticket holder. You don't care about losing your current seats. I do. A lot of other people do too. Simply put, X can achieve its revenue goals without moving everyone in the arena.
Xeus, I think the part you and some others are missing is that you seem to think it is only about the revenue. If that was the case, the option you discussed would be a viable one.
Xavier seems to be trying to do this in as fair as way as possible. There very well may be people losing their seats who are some of the longest tenured and/or biggest donors. Why should they be shit out of luck? That makes no sense.
Some people will end up with seats they like more, some with seats they like less, some won't give two shits either way. But I think Xavier is making this clear this is not a move intended to increase revenue by not presenting the option you suggested. It is a decision to improve Cintas that requires a reconfiguration. Tickets prices will invariably go up as well but that would have happened without a reconfiguration.
It is about the revenue. Please share the other reasons X would be investing in these Cintas improvements aside from increased revenue.
You think it is more "fair" to reseat 8000 people rather than find a solution for the 200 or so who will be affected by this? agree to disagree I guess.
I think every single fan and season ticket holder understands and supports that we all have a role to play in keeping this incredible program and University moving forward. It is 100% about keeping the men's basketball program competitive in the best basketball league in the country, paying one of the great active coaches what he deserves, maintaining top facilities to recruit top talent, and having the best game experience of any venue in college basketball. I get that. I support it. Efforts by X to downplay the necessary revenue push come across as disingenuous. Call it what it is - most of us agree with the initiative and are ready to support it.
Where is Pitino's seat :)
The improvements to the Cintas Center are, not the action of having people go through a reseating. It seems many people on here that are upset are suggesting the act of reseating is a money grab. I don't find that to be the case at all. I think the option you presented would be a money grab.
MOR apparently doesn't get it. But he owes me an apology for repeatedly accusing me of lying because I said something he doesn't want to hear. It takes incredible hubris to claim someone is lying about a meeting where the accuser knows nothing about what was said because MOR wasn't present.
Uh huh. I’m not taking the “word” of an anonymous poster on a message board over the schools publically known Athletic Director who would never say never.
But keep being salty at me.
BTW Xeus. I’m a big enough donor and I just committed to a 10 year agreement. (I’m sure there are those on here who’ll trash me for bragging, but you asked). And I will trust the University to do what they need to do and go along with it WITHOUT bitching and moaning about it on a message board.
If someone has a problem with it, take it up with Xavier, Xavier tickets, or in the case of X Man, storm into Greg Christopher’s office and accuse him of being a liar. Let’s see how that goes.
This whole conversation continues to be stupid.
Thanks for your continued support of Xavier. I mean that sincerely - we need more like you to maintain the trajectory.
You’ll be pleased to know last time this happened, I did have a couple beers with Greg Christopher (and XU 87) and shared my thoughts. And one thing I told him is that I trust him and I trust Xavier, and always have. So, you see, I can do both. I can trust the University, and go along with it, and also comment on things, both publicly and privately. Cool?
Fair enough. And by the way. My interactions with Greg have also been honest, straightforward and cooperative even if we don’t necessarily agree.
Which in large part is the reason I will not believe posters who claim that he “lied”.
But posting complaints on a message board with less than 100 (?) regular posters isn’t gonna move the needle.
I still suggest going to the source.
