Well then, thank you Kentucky for letting Q fall through the cracks! Your pass was our good fortune.

From young Mr. Allen's perspective, that should be only one issue; Cal's penchant is one & done players so every --repeat EVERY-- class Cal will recruit at least one near NBA ready player at Mr. Allen's position. He may see some minutes during his career but at best he will be only just another guy in blue sweat pants hoping to contribute to an NCAA FF team. Without "negative" recruiting,XU can show him better 4 year opportunity toward both contributing to FF caliber teams and NBA prospects; that's not to say he will be anointed and lacking internal competition, just that the team structure and chemistry will afford him better opportunity in both short and long term.
Looks like crystal ball just flipped to UK
If UK offers him, I can't imagine he goes anywhere else.
Why not, even the fringe guys who go there seem to get a shot at the NBA. Calipari has a ton of connections.
If it's all about getting to the NBA for him and not caring at all about an education, then I'm okay with him not coming to X. Cal may have great NBA connections, but will he be as dedicated to making sure his kids get a good education as Steele will be? I think not. If Allen is truly an NBA caliber player, scouts will see it whether he goes to X or Kentucky.
I hate to burst your bubble but most of not all major div 1 recruits are all about going to the NBA. It’s their dream because they are great at playing basketball. It doesn’t mean they don’t care about education at all if they choose UK (or most anywhere else) over X. If he said he was coming to X for a year or two then leaving you wouldn’t want him? I find that hard to believe.
Maybe?

It's entirely possible for a coach to help his guys leave early for pro ball if they're willing and able but also help those who do stay get an education.
