Ok so what is your response to the healthcare and manufacturing industries that are having just as hard a time hiring employees even though they both pay way above minimum wage and full benefits? It’s because the government is paying for healthcare and unemployment. Once that ends, restaurant industry workers will be back. The government’s response to covid has been effed up since the beginning.Quote:

Do they pay good wages? Manufacturing sure isn't known for that. Paying just the minimum wage or slightly above it is in no way good pay either. The current minimum wage is extremely outdated and has been needing a major adjustment for decades. The majority of the first world offers universal healthcare and yet they manage to have plenty of people working in restaurants and factories and healthcare. It's long time our country steps up and pays people an actual living wage. If you don't want to do it, then people aren't going to want to work for you. That's a problem each company needs to deal with on their own. It's not the governments fault that they're too cheap or too obsessed with keeping profits as high as possible to pay reasonable salaries.
And if they're good at it they can make substantially more money than anyone would pay them by the hour. If people don't want to bet on themselves, that's fine. The host stand jobs pay a straight hourly rate.Quote:

We are handing out TRILLIONS of dollars with no regard to who actually needs it. This will not be without consequences. Why go to work if you can sit at home and make more money? My son and his wife got their checks despite him being in a new job making more money than ever! That is a very real problem.
Yep! I worked for freaking lone star steakhouse not exactly Jeff Ruby’s and cleared 150-200 a night on the weekends for about 4-5 hours of work. Yeah the job sucks because in general the public sucks, and keeping from fighting with short order cooks was no easy task. However, can easily clear 40k at a restaurant of that caliber which in cincy is just fine for one personQuote:

My wife sucked it up because she knew they had a ceiling on their earnings, and it has paid off.
