MOR any insight into what the chances are Nunge can get the "right" amount of NIL money for next year? I would be really curious to know what he's getting this year and what he would want next year and if that is realistic or not.

He does have some great bits of info. I like his most recent tweet about X abandoning their original idea to rebrand with royal blue after public outcry over it.
While it’s fun to see the team change it up with the royal blue uniforms every once in a while, the dark navy uniforms and even the gray ones feel like the real BE X to me - plus they make our X-men look like the intimidating, badass MFs they are.
Lots of noise about Kerr Kriisa possibly coming to X. Anybody know if he would be a good fit?

I don’t understand it. Claude should be stepping into the role and we have a big time recruit as the backup… unless the whole two ball handler thing that miller had been talking about…:
From what I've seen of Kriisa (which is, albeit, limited), he would need to listen to Miller's advice on not taking f----- up shots to be effective.
I’m more concerned about the forwards next year.
80% of his attempts are from 3. Shoots 39% from 2. Has taken 111 Free Throws in 76 games. Souley Boum has taken 174 in 36 games this year...
If the guy is a lockdown defender, then MAYBE he fits. If the passing acumen shown by this team this year is a result of Millers influence, then there really isnt any need for a pass first PG. In fact, you actually NEED a PG that is willing to attack the rim and score in multiple ways.
Possibly his stats reflect how he was used by Tommy Lloyd.
I'll trust Miller on this one...
A veteran PG is our biggest need for next year, IMHO. As it is right now, we have 5 guards/wing players - all of them Fr/Sophs (assuming Colby doesn't return). Don't think it would be a good idea to put Green into the fire from the start - though I believe Tu became a starter his 1st year.
Regardless if Free and/or Nunge returns, I think we need a beefy/banger/enforcer type player - someone like Torraye Braggs or Jalen Reynolds.
Guessing everyone and their brother will be after him but the forward from Wyoming Graham Ike would be awesome to get. 6’9 255 and averaged a double-double? Yes please.
I don’t have any idea who we will bring in, but I trust that Miller has a good idea. This is a BIG DUDE, and we could use more of that. If not him, Sean will find someone like him. Souley Boum wasn’t exactly on my radar, but I’m just a couch potato. A nice run this year makes it easier to sell Xavier to guys like this.
I have seen Kriisa play in person a few times. He isn’t Boum but he can play. He isn’t flashy but he does his job. I would compare him to Payton Pritchard from Oregon though he is an NBA pro. Kriisa has never had to carry the load for a team. His defense is better than Boum but his three is 5 points less.
That would be a great get. He is a proven high D1 player and knows the system.
I went to one of Sean’s chalk talk things and saw somewhere (can’t remember where) that Sean basically wants two PGs on the court at all times. Or rather, both guards to be basically Combo guards. I really think what we’ve seen this year in this scheme is just scratching the surface of where the offense will be in the future. Everyone can handle the ball, everyone can attack, everyone can pass.
It’s a long way to say I think Claude and our incoming freshman will be very good in that role but we will need another one or two guys. I think kriisa fits well but that’s assuming Sean can reign him in. I think this offensive style will be extremely attractive to recruits of all kinds(high school/international/transfer).
With all of the transfer portal talk, who do we think will leave the program at the end of the year?
Seniors
Nunge
Kunkle
Boum
Pro
Jones: Think he will test the waters and see where his draft stock is. 50/50 he leaves.
Freemantle: Part of me thinks he returns yet part of me feels like he will go pro. Another 50/50 he leaves
Transfers
Edwards 100% leaves. Hasn’t developed as much as I thought he would under Miller.
Miles 100% leaves. Hasn’t developed to be a regular at this level.
Tandy 100% leaves. Surprised he didn’t transfer last year.
Tucker 50/50. Could see him stay or go.
Craft 75/25. Think he will stay and hopefully get more minutes next year but he may not be happy with the role he currently has.
I trust Miller to put together a solid roster for next year that will compete. Such a refreshing year after going through the Steele era. It will be interesting to see who returns and who we get from the portal.
I expect Kraft and Edwards to return. Not sure about other bench guys. I’ve also seen Nunge is closer to 50/50 than people think. (NIL may play into that) I don’t expect Freemantle back
I think Freemantle not participating in Senior night means he couldn’t (doubtful) or didn’t want to because he was returning.
I think Miles and Tandy will transfer. I think Tucker is 25/75 stay vs transfer. Edwards would flip. It’s clear to me Miller was trying to get Edwards to play like Hunter. I have no idea if he can but that was his role. I think Craft stays. He was not ready to play this season. Beyond the top 30, not many freshmen had an impact. Hunter stays for his final year.
We are getting a PG who could play some, two wings, and a big.
Supposedly Nunge staying would be all about the NIL money he could get.
Jones is as good as gone.
Free I could see 50/50.
Hunter I think is back.
Craft will be back I think, just wasn't quite ready this year.
I think Edwards is back.
No idea on Miles, Tandy, and Tucker. Would think they would look elsewhere but I can't believe Tandy came back this year, so I guess ya never know.
Jason Scheer, "Arizona Insider", has Kriisa coming to X: https://247sports.com/Player/Kerr-Kriisa-46101235/
Wow! This sounds aggressive!
I would think, with the obvious turnaround in success, leadership, and especially player development - wouldn't a player want to play for Miller given that opportunity?
After being messed-up by the Tin Man, another year under the tutelage of the Master would seem like a pretty attractive option. Just seems as if there would be, at least, SOME incentive to stay.
Most of the time guys hit the portal for two reasons. 1 they are really good and crazy NIL deals come at them or 2 the head coach tells you that you are not in the future plans. So with Xavier Colby will go to the NBA and if anyone transfers for a NIL deal it would most likely be Freemantle. Jack will either stay or go to Europe, Des will come back, Jerome will come back and then with the rest of the guys who can return will stay if they have a positive meeting with Sean or they will hit the portal if they are told playing time will be tough to come by.
The fact that he participated in Senior night would lead me to believe that any "50/50" that may have existed has probably been resolved in favor of leaving.
He's 25 years old and married -- and if he wants to have a professional career, he needs to get that started ASAP.
I don't really see any scenario where Nunge comes back. Colby is very likely gone, and the more time goes on, the less and less I think Freemantle will be back. Jerome is the only main guy that I think has a decent chance to return and I'd say that's slightly better than 50%. Let's send these guys off with a magical run.
I think you are missing Des. He will be the top guy next year. As for Jerome I would say it’s about 90% he returns. He is having more fun than ever and I think he feels with another year with Sean he has a shot at the NBA. Not that is very likely, but he believes it. Sean said they are continuing to work on his three ball and if he comes back able to hit that consistently, look out.
Coming back IMHO:
Locks:
Claude
Hunter
Maybe:
Nunge
Edwards
Kraft
Not likely:
Freemantle
Moving on:
Myles
KyKy (please)
Colby
Tucker
