They had a HELL of a run with Gregg Marshall and damn near made the national title game one year. A Final Four, followed by finishing the regular season ranked #1 (but unfortunately losing early in the tournament) to another top 25 year where they beat Kansas and made it back to the Sweet Sixteen.Quote:

My question....what happened to all the money that Koch was giving to the university and basketball there? Did that money just stop once Marshall left? Id have thought that once nil became a thing that theyd be rolling.

Charles Koch has no interest in the NIL stuff. He wants a return on his investments. I think there's a lot of Koch money that goes to Wichita State's innovation campus (a pretty impressive institution). Chase Koch (his son) seemed somewhat interested in WSU's success, but he's a Texas A&M grad. Steve Feilmeier was the biggest money behind the Gregg Marshall extension, but he has since retired as CFO. I assume he's still a relatively large contributor, but he's not the kind of guy who can single-handedly make them competitive. The president of the business I support was always a big contributor/fan, but he's seemingly lost interest. I can't remember the last time he even mentioned WSU.Quote:
