Would have loved it if he would have came back. But can completely understand this move from his perspective. Thanks for everything and best of luck!

Just have it more and gone fishin is tremendous. Plus it's less ESPN (outside of Jalen)
we shall see what the cupboard produces next year in frontcourt.
I suspect nothing matching Farr and Reynolds.
Maybe X plays 5 guards.
Really? I think the O'Mara/Gaston slot will easily replace Jalen's production. Not a knock on Jalen at all. Obviously, Xavier won't be as dominant (or focused) up front this season but an improved Gates along with more experienced Bluiett/Macura on the wing should more than make up for that IMO.
and Eddie
Tough to replace those guys, but I think Gates will be better (overall) than either of those guys before he's done. No telling what to expect from the new guys, but the way the minutes worked, replacing Farr and Jalen is a lot like replacing one person/position. Jalen was often resting with 2 fouls by the 16 minute mark. I like O'Mara in the post. Gaston isn't a freshman and has time with the team. I'll trust Mack to make it work and add where needed.
What exactly do you people who disagree with this think Jalen could possibly do to become a first round pick? Our team will be loaded offensively. He'd be lucky to average 12 a game.
Plus, there's only a certain amount of time you can give somebody before you realize they'll probably never develop a certain skillset. At this point, Jalen will never be a go-to guy in the post. It's just not gonna happen. He's an athlete who can run and jump very well.
People said 'Semaj needs to stay, if he works on his point guard skills and jump shot, he's a sure fire first rounder!" 2 years removed, he is shooting 19% from 3 and has an A/T ratio of 3.6/2.9. If he would have stayed two more years, he would be a 23 year old senior with about $150,000 less dollars in his bank account.
Exactly. Just going off guys that were on the team this year (obviously Eddie is a weird situation), O'Mara/Gaston IMO can definitely fill Reynolds' production (although likely in a very different fashion). As for Farr, he is graduating, which when you recruit at the level Xavier does tends to happen to your best/most productive guys each season (XU is in an amazing spot with how much they have returning when you think of it this way), and Mack has brought in several front court recruits who are universally higher rated than Farr was out of HS. Not much else you can ask.
If Jalen asked me what to do - clearly he didn't and wouldn't - I would tell him to turn pro in a heartbeat. He has a special opportunity to make life-changing money for him and his family but that window is only open for a relatively few short years of his life. Definitely need to go grab it.
