This is the new Red Wanting Blue album 'From the Vanishing Point' streaming. It comes out in January I think.
I know I'm late to the party but I really like Bon Iver's Forever Emma as background music for pretty much anything. I'd call it "ambient" but that makes it sound like Brian Eno or that NPR Echoes show.

This isn't brand new music, but An Endless Sporadic released their self-titled debut album in 2009. It's not a strech to call them one of the best progressive rock bands in the past ten years. Think of Rush but with keyboards. All instrumental.
There seems to be a lot of solid Canadian bands out there (The New Pornographers, Stars, Feist, etc...). How did Montreal become such a hotbed for talent.
