For the record, I’m not for shutting down anything but the most obvious situations (like large concerts as you mention above). I’m out and about every day, as is my family. My son had to fly to Chicago for work recently. He said he felt as safe there as he did at the grocery store. I don’t shame anyone for doing what they have to do.
My problem is with the arrogant deniers who think they know better than everyone else. Despite the signs at the grocery store and elsewhere requiring masks, they feel that doesn’t apply to them. Whole Foods was giving away masks to people who didn’t have them. I saw people take their mask and put it on then take it off 10 feet inside the door. If there is some legitimate medical or emotional reason for that, fine. If you just believe it’s a hoax or just don’t like wearing a mask, then shame on you. It’s not that hard to carry on and still play by a reasonable set of rules in the current environment.
