They'll show up only if House decides to get off the motorcycle that he's riding next to Wilson.

Just picked up the new Garbage album- Not Your Kind of People.
Excellent. Shirley Manson and the boys still have it! They are My Kind of People.
United States of Being by PUJOL comes out in 2 weeks. I got the digital download for it last night since I preordered the vinyl and it's all I have been listening to today. Get it when it comes out if you can.
I'm not investing in anything that might be related to Albert.
He has caused me enough heartburn.
I'm not much of a bluegrass devotee (and by that I mean, I don't really like bluegrass), but the hubby and I have recently been enjoying Steve Martin's collaborations with the Steep Canyon Rangers as well as Steve's own bluegrass album. I wish he was touring somewhere close to Cincy so we could catch one of his shows.
I had a chance to catch Steve Martin performing some of his music last year, and it was very impressive. If you like a little sample of bluegrass, I would recommend listening to Katie Laur on WNKU on Sunday evening. I find it a really realaxing way to end the weekend and get ready for the upcoming week, especially as background music to a Sunday evening dinner outdoors.
I'm jealous. The closest I've come to seeing him live is on the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS - so, not close at all. We'll check out Katie Laur Sunday night. We should have the pool up and running by then with a cooler full of beer for the hubby and mojitos for me, and some new music would be good. Thanks for the recommendation!
I have two extra tickets to the Avett Brothers concert in Dayton on June 7th.
SOLD!
Thanks for the responses
Here are two tracks from my band The Smug Saints recordings. We will have a 13 or so track CD out in a month or so I hope. I mean I listen to it.

'Gimmie Jimmy' is one I sing, 'Babe I'm Comin' To Town' is my pal Pat Mulloy singin'. The records about half and half.
By the way,
Golfitup's brother's band Houndmouth has a record deal and is getting some big time pub.
They have an EP coming out on August 27. Check it out.
Houndmouth
I hope that song is not about Jimmy 2X.
Most of you younger, hipper kids have probably heard of these guys (plus their album apparently came out last year), but I really like Fitz and the Tantrums. If you haven't heard them, I highly recommend them. They are so choice.
Most local indie pop fans know of Cincinnati's The Minor Leagues", who will be playing at the Bunbury next Friday night.
What many might not know is that the band's great 2006 album, "The Pestilence is Coming" is the basis of a musical play of the same name, which is opening next weekend at the Magic Futurebox Theater in Brooklyn. All the songs on the album are featured in the musical.
Ben Walpole, who with Patrick Helmes started the band years ago, wrote all the songs. Ben is a grad student at XU, and is a huge Xavier basketball fan who follows and contributes to our discussion boards and is a regular at the Cintas for home games.
Their most recently released album, "North College Hill" may be their best yet. There are many interesting songs on the album; I especially like "Home" (powerful), "Ghost Maps", and "Secret Codes". At Bunbury and other local venues you'll be able to hear songs from their recently recorded but not yet released album "Northside". If you like melodic, lyrical, and often emotionally rich pop music, try out The Minor Leagues, (minorleaguesmusic.com).
Red Wanting Blue is on David Letterman tomorrow night (7/18).
I'm super proud of my pals for getting to this moment in their career doing it their way. Check out Ohio's own RWB on the Late show!
For some reason, there seems to be a ton of talent in/from Montreal (and Canada, in general). I hate emoish music. But this is so emoish that I like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJsL3PG40a8
Speaking of Canada, definitely not new, but I stumbled on this Rush song and love it. So retro and ridiculous, but fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu9Ycq64Gy4. The song/video haven't aged well, but that's part of the charm of it.
The Icelandic band Of Monsters and Men is on the verge of blowing up. They're steadily creeping into mainstream radio. They're the next Mumford, and very similar. Here's their signature track from their eponymous album:

I am a big Minor Leagues fan, had no idea about the X connection, thanks for sharing.
For anyone else into local bands, if you haven't heard of them yet check out Josh Eagle and The Harvest City and Heartless Bastards. Both getting fairly popular and have some great tunes.
For some reason, the video doesn't work on mobile devices.
It's Subdivisions. I looked it up on wikipedia. Apparently they play it live a lot these days. So maybe the song has aged well. I love it. I'm beginning to realize that there's more to Rush than Tom Sawyer and the Working Man.
Ah, yes. Subdivisions. I likely....a lot.
The best thing about the song is Geddy Lee moving from bass to synthesizer at various points of the tune. The entire album Signals is excellent.
As we have discussed before, why Rush, Yes and Moody Blues are not in the Rock Hall of Fame is an absolute disgrace.
Just got back from a sold out Clutch show at Cleveland House of Blues. The opening act was Monster Truck. They do a sort of 70's hard rock thing but they add a keyboard. They were very very good. I can't recommend their EP that's on Amazon and itunes though as I don't think it fairly represents them - it's kind of generic. Supposedly a new album is coming soon. Watch out for these guys in the future.
I took a trip to Nashville a few weeks ago and happened upon the Don Kelley Band playing at Robert's Western World. They had a guest guitarist playing with them, a 17 year old phenom named Daniel Donato. Freaking unbelievable guitar player. If you're rolling through Nashville, look him up. I understand he's still playing with a variety of bands, but someone is bound to sign him to a major band if he wants it.
New Mumford & Sons coming out 9/26/12
New Avett Brothers comes out 9/11.
I'm really into Trampled by Turtles after seeing them at Lollapalooza. A ton of energy on stage and great sound.
Others at Lolla that impressed:
Black Keys
Childish Gambino
Jeff the Brotherhood
Of Monsters & Men
Bombay Bicycle Club
Black Sabbath
Afghan Whigs
The Shins
The Big Pink
I'm sure I missed a couple. Overall a pretty good year for Lolla. Wasn't too excited about any of the closing acts after the first night. But the mid day stuff was great.
MOR, I am all about the new music. I've seen tons of new acts over the past 10 years and I love the new stuff. But, I am currently listening the Pure Prairie League's Dance album on Spotify. Dude, I know you've of PPL when you were at X. I saw them in Cincy many times while there. I think you would agree that any youngster into some classic rockabilly would love PPL.
Check out the Dance album. Great stuff.
BTW have seen Circa Survive and Yuck at Grog Shop. Great venue. Wanted to see Dandy Warhols there this past June but the Canton Barrister's niece's grad party was in Cincy that day so I went there instead.
I've downloaded some Amazon MP3 albums over the last 6 months by the bands mentioned above. Great stuff. Recently I've also picked up:
Beach House
The XX
The Lumineers
M83
The Walkmen
I mostly listen to that stuff at work. It's somewhat relaxing. Every now-and-then though I will switch over to something a little more well known like 30 Seconds to Mars, Raphael Saadiq, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Depeche Mode, etc. Hell just a couple of weeks ago I downloaded some old school mid-90's Mobb Deep and Wu-Tang Clan. I listen to everything except Country. Never been able to get into that much.
I like M83. Kind of funny though that their front man is Anthony Gonzalez and he's French. Heard him interviewed and the two didn't go together. Good music though.
