I also like the making the "extra pass" comments. Why is the last pass the 'extra' one and not the one before it? If a shot does not go in, should the shooter have made another 'extra' pass, rather than shoot from the 'extra' pass he received? So it's only an extra pass if it results in a made basket. Otherwise it is selfish, ball hogging, showboating, hero-ball, "not a good shot selection" and show a general lack of basketball IQ.

The "extra pass" signifies giving up a good shot for a better one (that can mean a better overall shot or a pass to a better shooter, or both). Has no bearing if the ball goes in or not. So yes, "extra pass" makes perfect sense.
