The Missouri crowd (and the 3 X fans that were there) gave her a nice applause and chuckle for that play.
This was my first game of the year so I was impressed by a lot of things on the team. However, there stills seems to be a lack of energy and killer instinct on the women's team. It was very disheartening to watch Mizzou power back in the last 2 minutes to a game that seemed to be over.
Hopefully the energy is normally there and I just caught a bad night.
April may be my favorite player on this team just for the strength and power she uses when attacking the basket.
Overall any night Xavier wins is a good night.
Watching this game again, three things strike me.
1) T-Phil is one awesome basketball player. Not only her obvious offenseive and defensive traits, but the other tings she does. She has a vision of the floor and turns into, when needed, a screen machine. If you get a chance to see this again, watch what she does on offense, when she doesn't have the ball.
2) Amber looks a little tentative, maybe it's just one game, or maybe I just haven't seen her play ina long time, but she seems to be protecting herself. I thought of this after her first block, then I looked at stats and can't see the block factory like in her first 2 seasons. I hope she gets a little more comfortable out there and regains that reckless abandon she had in her frosh and soph seasons.
3) A-Phil can really turn it on when needed, she absolutely had a monster game against MO.
