Now Xavier has to win tomorrow and hope Creighton wins as well to get the #1 seed. The kicker here is that 2 Creighton players were ejected and will miss tomorrow's game per Big East rules. Their fans and skipper were livid at the strike zone late in the game when their bullpen went up in smoke.

UConn plays GTown. X plays Seton Hall at Prasco.
Literally a game of inches. X had the bases loaded in the 9th and 1 but hit into a game-ending double play. Had the Hoyas played the infield in, they would have been SOL.
Was nearly a full house at Hayden today with the Gtown fans making the weekend (and now 2-week) trip.

Georgetown blew a golden opportunity today to advance to the winners' bracket; I arrived for the bottom of the 8th in their game against UConn and they failed TWICE to cover first base on soft ground balls hit to the first baseman (who was not in position to touch the bag).
As for Xavier's game tonight, Alazaus saved most of the bullpen by going 8.1 innings on 109 pitches. Jack Housinger had 3 doubles and drew an intentional walk to lead the offense.
Presumably Bosacker tomorrow night?
