Well, since the CDC recently admitted that hospitalizations were over-counted by almost double, this would actually mean we're about on par with Denmark. Amazing how the gov't plays with stats.
Well, that should free up about 60,000 beds for other things than.

BTW, can you link to where the CDC "admitted that hospitalizations were over-counted by almost double"? Thanks
And another thing about Buffalo Bills fans - they're incredibly lazy.
What a coincidence! I can be a little lazy at times, but I’m not stupid, and I’m not a masochist. Anyone who wants to go back thru all those links is out of their mind!
I didn't think so.
You must be confused (again), post 7062 has nothing to do with your claim, which again, numerous links refuting.
As far as vax mandates, I have zero issue with private businesses deciding to mandate their employees or customers be vaccinated. 100% their right. Just as it is the right of the employee or customer not to work or patronize that particular business. When it comes to healthcare, I not only have zero issue with it, I actively support it and it fits in line with numerous other requirements of healthcare workers that have been in place for a long time.
I'm not sure what you guys are still fighting for. Newsflash: it's over - we won. The Democrats overplayed their hand, and have been exposed as the petty tyrants they really are. Unless you're in a few commie-occupied states or cities, this is completely over. No more masks, no more lockdowns, no more absurd rules, and no more vaccines will be forced on the remaining pure bloods. Anyone who has the ability to discern lies from propaganda and fearmongering knows none of these mitigation efforts ever worked.
It's all good, though. The Republicans are going to be taking everything from the US Senate down to dog catcher seats in the upcoming November elections. And then Trump will be elected in 2024. We're going to elect people who actually love America, and will get this country back on track again.
I know there's been a lot of bickering and name calling on this thread over the last 22 months. Hope none of you took it personally! It was all done in the name of truth and science. In the end, we skeptics were completely successful in getting the truth out there on this board. and in the process, as time went on, we've been proven right on nearly every prediction and assertion - whether you want to admit or not. The truth is on our side. History will be on our side as well.
Next time, hopefully you all won't allow yourselves to be so easily fooled by such nonsense. Try looking a little deeper into the issues instead of believing everything the media spoon feeds you, and have a basic understanding of data analysis and risk assessment. It will save you a lot of angst!
Finally, for a few of you, next time you decide you wish to engage in a battle of wits with us, I would suggest that you come armed.
Peace out....
I read the first line or two above. I have ZERO interest in the politics of all this. Some people are all about the politics. I avoid those posts and posters the most.
What do I need to do to be safe, and protect those around me? It’s all about being a good family member and citizen. I don’t give a shit about the politics.
Good news. Lou thinks it's over. No more stupid crap posts from louie. Close the thread.
I thought this tweet was a good take about all of the different Covid fights going on and why a succinct consistent message is so difficult:
”"What should we do about COVID?" is 15 different conversations all happening at the same time, with people getting angry at each other because they don't realize they're not talking about the same thing. The experiences of children, college students, single adults, parents of small children, parents of school-age children, and seniors are all different, and further confounded by where you live, income, your health, the health of members of your family, etc, etc, etc.“

Jesus, if it's Trump vs. Biden again I'll....well, I'll once again vote for neither of them and my life probably won't be much affected either way (except on message boards!).
Sorry, to burst your bubble but the links you posted are not related to my statement - I was not aware of these studies. Post 7062 is in reference to actual data from the UK showing per capita cases notably higher for the vaxxed than for unvaxxed. You can look up that data yourself if you don't believe me.
What about government mandates? Do you support them?
Perhaps this is the issue? Repeat Covid Booster Shots Spur Warning on Immune Response, EU Regulators Warn - Bloomberg
"Omicron, that's why". OK I agree, but with that being the case, what good are additional vaccines doing to stop spread? Based on the UK data, they seem to be exacerbating spread. And yes, I know the vaccine lowers hospitalizations and deaths. That is not the issue.
Why are vax mandates pointless? "Omicron, that's why".
Since you guys seem to love quoting Reuters' fact checks, you should know that the Reuters Chairman is also a Pfizer Board Member.
Thanks. Didn't see anything in the second link, but the first one was instructive.
The thrust of the article and the studies wasn't (according to how I read it) that the CDC admitted hospitalizations were over-counted by double.
Rather that many hospitalizations, in cases over 40%+, were mild symptoms that didn't end up requiring oxygen, intubation, etc.
I guess if someone is symptomatic, goes to the ER, and the doctor admits for observation...then it becomes a "hospitalization."
If they go for something else and are admitted (and they also are Covid +) then that might be counted incorrectly.
But whats the point? Hundreds of thousands have died from the virus. 2,000+/day are still dying. Maybe that's the number to focus on.
We turned the world upside down forever for the terrorist attack of 9/11 where 3,000 were killed on one day. We keep doing that every 2 days.....
As an Independent, if the choice is between Trump and Biden, I won’t vote or will vote for a third party. Trump sucked during his term. Biden sucked during his first term. Hopefully the Republican and Democratic parties aren’t stupid enough to put these two as their picks. However, I doubt that will happen.
OMG, you are exhausting. Do you just post so much bullshit you have such a hard time keeping track of it? Or is it intentional? This is like the 10th time you've attempted a confusion racket to stop from having to own up to your BS. The links I posted absolutely refute the statement you made above.
I support government mandates of healthcare facilities who receive payment from CMS. I think the government should generally not mandate anything for private businesses.
1,000% agree. But will never happen as the people who would need to make it happen are all also ancient.
I am not an "ageist" either. I work with older populations and respect the heck out of them. But it is a scientific fact that by a certain age in your 70's (can't remember the exact age, my wife would know tho) cognitive decline starts to happen. There is absolutely no reason we need someone in their late 70's or 80's (as Biden will be) as POTUS.
Btw data is only good if you actually understand it and analyze it with context, otherwise it is just bs in and bs out. It’s extremely easy to make data say whatever the hell you want it to say
I'm pretty sure my wife said I was experiencing cognitive decline the day after we returned from our honeymoon.
Actually, can't remember...but that seems about right.
This is the trap that they suck you into. They aren't going logically address your argument, you are going to get copy and paste talking points (and lots of them). Some of the statements they link to will be true, but will almost always be taken out of context. They will post 10 links to your 1, and demand that you refute each of them, while simultaneously not addressing your assertions. You either won't have the time, or won't choose to spend it that way and you will give up. That's how the confusion racket works.
