A reminder, NYC has a population of over 8M and is only dealing with a fraction of the migrants in border town that otherwise have populations of a few hundred thousand- like El Paso, Corpus Christi and Brownsville.
If proud sanctuary city NYC is struggling, how are those border towns supposed to manage this crisis?

The bigger mess is that we allow and encourage people to live dependent on the government. One lady in our town quit her job so she could be eligible for low income housing. Another had her seventh child and can’t afford to independently raise the other six without full government monetary support. We call it the lifecycle of poverty here. Born on government benefits, have the same government benefits throughout your life, have multiple children who are born on benefits and the life cycle continues. I totally get that there are people with significant health issues and disabilities that need government assistance and I totally support that. However, tax payers are paying a lot of money for people who are fully capable of working and supporting their choice of having multiple kids through money they receiving from work.
