The ridiculous "Lockdown" continues, although DeWine, feeling the political winds apparently, changed the "Stay At Home" order last night to "Stay Safe Ohio" today. Obviously the people are speaking and Mikey is getting nervous that a revolt is afoot.
Also. There is now more and more indications that the reported "cases" of Covid19 may just be trumped up. Just follow the money as this Fact Check from liberal leaning USA Toaday even printed. More money for the hospitals from Medicare and insurance companies if a case is reported as Covid or someone who just may have the flu is put on a ventilator, of which there are plenty now. Where the hell is the shortage that Cuomo and Sixty Minutes were screaming about a couple of weeks ago? The ventilator air is getting a bit stale.

Personally, I don't think our country and economy can survive a long term lock down as it is now. We have to find a way to get things opened back up to some degree. As long as our hospitals and healthcare systems don't become overwhelmed we can probably push through that spike, but have to be prepared to adjust quickly when appropriate. One of my biggest concerns for my offices is that I can not get PPE. I have about 17 N95 masks for my entire staff right now. I personally own 2 respirators which are a bitch to wear and I have to pay through the nose on ebay to get replacement filters.
If people would actually wear masks, actually try to do some social distancing, and use common sense we could probably open things back up. If people think they can jsut go crazy and go back to life as usual they likely are in for a rude awakening when cases go through the roof.
This is a nastier bug than a lot of people on this board are giving it credit. Social distancing worked and is working. That does not mean the disease is not a bad one.
If we get a reliable treatment and/or vaccine everything changes, of course.
Thank you and I agree people need to be sensible but we also have to get back to some normalcy soon the best we can. It’s actually sad for the older people or people in poor health. I doubt the majority want to spend that much time sitting alone in a confined place, especially if they don’t have a ton of time left on earth. Dammed if you do, damned if you don’t I guess. Here’s to hoping for a vaccine soon. And I feel for people like yourself that see the really bad side of this. Most of us have not witnessed what some of the hospitals have for sure.Quote:
