Some Pro-Aborts don’t want to have the conversation around number of weeks or limits because to do so realizes in law that the fetus is a life while in the womb.
15 doesn't seem particuarly extreme. Not particularly out of line with much of Europe.
There is not much room to lose on the democrat turnout in response to abortion. If someone was going to turnout for a 15 week bill that will not pass odds are they were already going to turn out just for the overturn. This could be their new front to keep the topic alive for pro life voters who may have considered the issue closed.
