I think Paul's dopey senator was trying to energize his conservative base, but, of course, did just the opposite. Mitch panned the idea already. 70% of America wanted to to let Roe stand. Nice fodder for the midterms.

Pew says 57-41 against. Not that polls should guide Supreme Court decisions.

That law will likely be challenged and thrown out by the Court. Without and Amendment the Court declared the Fed doesn't have that power.

Not my issue but that's likely how it would play out.

I don't want to disparage the people in my state, but the men probably think 15 weeks is late-term.

I'm pretty sure, however, that the women are a little bit smarter.

Some Pro-Aborts don’t want to have the conversation around number of weeks or limits because to do so realizes in law that the fetus is a life while in the womb.

15 doesn't seem particuarly extreme. Not particularly out of line with much of Europe.

It has NO chance of passing, and even if it does, which it won't, there's no way in hell Biden would sign it. All they're going to end up accomplishing is whooping the Democratic base into a frenzy, which is the last thing they want to be doing right now!! The Democrats can use this to grow their base. People who are not politically active and don't normally vote will now have a reason to show up at the midterms and vote Blue.

Generally, it's only the Democrats that are this stupid and this non-strategic. I think what REALLY put the nail in the coffin for the GOP back in 2020 as far as losing both the House and the Senate was the ACB being rushed through to the Supreme Court. That outraged Team Blue and gave the Dems the final rallying cry that they needed. But at least the Republicans got something out of it! They won't get a damn thing out of this!!

There is not much room to lose on the democrat turnout in response to abortion. If someone was going to turnout for a 15 week bill that will not pass odds are they were already going to turn out just for the overturn. This could be their new front to keep the topic alive for pro life voters who may have considered the issue closed.
