Ok, so a co-worker of mine lost a bet and his punishment is that I get to pick out the beer that he is to drink at the company picnic in March. Any suggestions?

Bad beer? Wiedeman. Lone Star. Skunked Heineken.

I don't want to offend the Elder posters, but i would go with Beast or Burger Light.

Good call...couple 40's of Colt 45??? Not only does it taste horrible, but there is alot of shame involved in drinking a 40 in front of the boss.

Samuel Adams Utopia.

Yeah, he's buying. I just get to choose.

I actually looked into that Utopias beer a while back for my own indulgence. You can't buy that stuff in OH. No good, huh?

Speaking of Sam Adams, anyone try the new Irish Red?

I would suggest something in the Cobra or Grizzly variety.

Has anyone had the Lienenkugels Sunset Wheat? I tried this at a place called Putters in Milford Saturday. It tastes almost exactly like the milk leftover after a bowl of Trix cereal. My cat would love it, if I had a cat.

As far as humiliating the co-worker, Zima sits in the malted beverage family.

Coupla 40's of Olde English oughta make him regret the bet.

I drank some of those as a frosh in HS trying to impress a girl. I throw up 4 times that nite.

It probably all depends on whether you want to go the humiliation route or the really bad tasting beer route.

Would Grape Mad Dog be in the beer realm?

I think I should like a Pinochle and Champale party quite a bit.

I believe chamale was discontinued a few years ago. I don't believe it is available in this area.

I don't believe Mad Dog would qualify for a beer, because it is not a malt based beverage (such as Mike's Hard Lemonade, Smirnoff Ice, Hooch, Doc Otis, or any of the other alco-pops that came about in the beginning of the 2000's.

Cold Colt 45 or steel reserve, actually don't taste much different than your average yellow beer. The problem with malt liquors is usually the hangover the day after, and not the actual taste.

I attended, and graduated from Oldenberg beer school, and in one day we sampled everything in the spectrum from Wiedemann all the way to Guiness. In my experience the most gawd awful tasting beer there is has to be Corona. Mexicans won't even drink that hog piss. Any beer that you have to put a piece of fruit in the bottle, just to be able to drink the stuff, is not one to drink on a regular basis.

If you are looking for the guy to get sick, just make him drink a bunch of warm cheap beers or anything in a green bottle. Again when cold, beers such as Wiedeman, Old Milwaukee, Shlitz, Goebel, Old Style, or Rolling Rock really don't taste that bad. If you let them get warm and skunky, then any cheap beer or green bottle beer will taste absolutely wretched and will likely give you a mean headache. Green bottle beers skunk the easiest because their green bottles filter out less light, one of the biggest enemies of beer.

I just saw the Sam Adams Utopia Beer at Hyde Park Wine and Sprits. I have tried it and it is awful

that's obviously a matter of opinion, i mean you say it's awful, I say it's delicious.

Burger Light. Can't get any worse. Interestingly enough, the night I drank a 12 pack, it was at an MSJ party in Price Hill.

I try to explain this in small words to Corona drinkers to no avail.

Asparagus is delicious if you cover it in cheddar cheese. So is my shoe.

I think that somebody makes a beer with hot sauce in it that you can buy at Jungle Jim's or the Party Source, but I'm not sure. I know it exists though, and I have heard that it is awful.

Kahns Krazy
01-28-2008, 11:46 AM
The hot beer is Cave Creek Chili Beer. It is not awful, but it is not a drink-a-6-pack beer. It makes a nice complement to a mexican meal. It would be difficult to lay back several of these.

Is Hyde Park wine and spirits the one by Bonefish?

Any German smoked beer. That's some truly awful stuff, and he is to be commended if he can get a whole bottle down.

I would suggest tallboys of Icehouse. It's an awful tasting beer that will guarantee a hangover the next morning, even if you are only drinking a couple.

Or instead of "champale" you could make him do "champipple" (champagne and ripple) from Sanford and Son.

Hyde Park Wine and Spirits is in the shopping center with Bonefish. They typically have a good selection.

That's what it is! I haven't personally had it, but I can't imagine beer with chili flavor being particularly good.

Hyde Park Wine and Spirits is the one by bonefish. That would be correct. Decent little liquor store.
