A little research on the Zags, for the curious:
• Gonzaga is 26-6, with an RPI of 34 and SOS of 94. Our RPI was 24 and SOS 70.
• Their best wins are against Virginia (a 5 seed in the NCAA) and Utah (a 9), though both were in November. They lost to South Dakota St. (a 7 seed) and UCSB (a 15). Gonzaga has won seven of its last eight games.
• What makes this an interesting matchup is they have the 12th-highest scoring offense and the 31st-best shooting team in the country. We, of course, have the No. 1 FG percentage defense in the land and No. 7 scoring defense, so it's strength vs. strength.
• They're pretty good at forcing turnovers (15.8 per game), and that has been one of our weak spots at times.
• Gonzaga's tallest player is 6-2, so Ta'Shia (6-6) should have the edge inside. Their post player, Heather Bowman, is their leading scorer and rebounder — 19.5 and 7.6. They have a guard, Courtney Vandersloot, who averages 16.4. They've got four players in double figures.
