This thread is for the genius of the new HBO show from Danny McBride and Will Ferrell called Eastbound and Down. Who out there has seen this show and what are your thoughts on it? I personally love it and quote it every chance I get. Thoughts everyone?

Saw the first episode and taped last night's...I thought the first one was OK. Raunchy as hell but funny. I'm interested in seeing what Farrell's character brings to the show..

If it's half as good as the Jerry Reid song of the same name it's probably worth watching.

I've watched the first two episodes and have liked it enough to make it scheduled viewing.

The greatness of this show can be summed up in the closing scene of episode 1: topless jet skiing with Black Betty playing in the background.

It reminds me a little of "Mind of the Married Man"--it should be funny, and could be funny, but really hasn't been so far.

Throwing out the F word constantly in front of small children nowadays, just doesn't strike me as funny. Apparently it is to most of the audience. Sad indictment of our times, but then I am admittedly "ol skool".

I watched all three of the episodes. Good moments, but still waiting for it to grow on me.

I laughed my ass off during the first episode when he said to the triathlete, "I play real sports. I don't try to be best at exercising."

I thought "Mind of the Married Man" was coming into its own just as it got cancelled.

I've been seriously considering getting rid of the HBO and Showtime. I could see the HBO, but doubt I could give up the "Californication" and "Brotherhood."

I thought Sunday's episode was pretty damn funny.. I laughed out loud when Kenny was driving and he tried to do a u turn and ran into a parked boat. "Hold on to your dick!"

In that same sequence when he says "Well, I'm gonna split, I got priors" had me rolling. Each episode so far has been better than the last. Sad to see the show end in 3 weeks.

For those who didn't really like the show after the first or second chapter I think you should go and watch this past Sunday's episode. It is easily one of the funniest ones so far and at the same time brought in a human element to the show and Kenny as well and you might like it more.

What about the regular watchers of the show, what did you think of this episode?

I liked it...finally a little T&A. The Kenny "almost sex scene" had me rolling. Also, I guess it's legal to drink beer anywhere in that city..every time Kenny and his brother are out, they're crushing high-lifes. I also find myself strangely attracted to Cassie

I'm having trouble deciding about her. One scene I say yes, the next one I reconsider.

Yeah, she's pretty attractive at times. In this past episode though, how messed was that dance she and her son were doing before they panned to Kenny and Dustin drinking outside and talking about BBQ's?

Ahh, the classic anti hero in Kenny F&@$ing Powers. Not exactly a new theme, but it's pretty funny. Not exactly at the top of my list, but ok. Him throwing the guy off his jet ski into the mud cracked me up.

I HATE dayton.

yeah I liked this week's episode a lot. Also if you like East Bound and Down, I recommend watching the movie "The Foot Fist Way". It also stars Danny McBride playing a similar character, but he is a kids martial arts instructor.

Sad night on HBO in general with both Flight of the Conchords and Eastbound closing up shop for good (that is the word right now).

April's tits looked amazing last night and it was a solid episode overall. If anyone wants to comiserate with me on the loss of this show I'll be doing weed on the reg followed up with some jet skiing on a lake.

Pretty sure those weren't hers, and they used a "boob double".

Still, Eastbound and Down was/is a great show, as was Flight of the Conchords.

I think HBO needs to put Entourage to bed though.

The end of the final episode of Eastbound and Down was funny as hell. I really thought it was the funniest scenes I've seen on TV in months.

Kenny's character is awesome, and I am glad this show will get a chance to develop. The first six episodes were a little choppy, but a lot of shows start the same way. Entourage was MUCH better the second season because it took about that long to get to know the characters.

I watched that last episode at least twice, and laughed harder the second time. Funny ass show if you ask me.

Production on the second season of the show began in May 2010. The setting will move to Mexico, with principal shooting taking place in Puerto Rico. The new season will bring a number of changes to the cast, including new faces Michael Peņa and Ana de la Reguera, who will play the owner of the Mexican baseball team and Kenny's new love interest, respectively. The role of Kenny's father is planned but not yet cast. All of the supporting cast from the first season will be absent or make cameo appearances. The only exception is Steve Little as Stevie Janowski, who tracks Kenny down in Mexico. Ben Best is said to still be in the cast but playing a different character. [5]According to an article in Vice Magazine, the season will be seven episodes long. The article includes a photo of actor Steve Little and Deep Roy, who has apparently joined the cast, in Puerto Rico.[6]

Eastbound and Down will return to HBO for the long awaited second season on September 26, 2010.

Can't wait for season 2 and I think the "Mexican League" angle couild really work. I'm a little disapointed that Andrew Daly isn't involved in this season. I thought he was great in season 1.
