Yeah I know I sound like a bitter, jealous, old man/fan but watching this is just pissing me off. Xavier has been better than Gonzaga the past 10 years and we're the only ones that seem to know this!
Sorry, had to vent. I love this board....
Oh, and Go Memphis....

By the way, I effing hate these goddamn hidden camera pizza hut commercials. Is there a way to get these stupid things off the air?!

As an Italian-American, I find the commercial with the Italians eating the Pizza Hut lasagna offensive.

Just curious, why are you offended?

I wasn't actually offended, but people in Italy don't really eat lasagna.

Gotcha. I was going to say, if it's true, then it's either sad, or that stuff is really good.
At the beginning of the year I said Gonzaga was overrated. IMO, Heytvelt is the most overrated player in the game of college basketball. As of late, Gonzaga had been overrated like its their job. Did I say overrated enough? I don't like Gonzaga or Adam Morrison's "Little Tikes:My First Moustache" one bit.

Playing in the crappy A-10, that is why it doesn't happen this year, but ESPN loves that Gonzaga...Frankly I am sick of it...I want Gameday to come to Xavier next year...On a side note, did anyone notice on the scores at the bottom of the screen of today's ESPN games, said Xavier was seeking their 4th straight 20 win season and that we had held 20 of 21 opponents to some FG %...It is also funny going to ESPN.com and you see us showing as 20-3...We have already won 20 games and we had played 22 before this game, now 23...Get your damn facts straight crappy network.

Well, College Gameday sure helped Gone-zaga get their asses kicked.
Damn. How many would they have lost by without all the talking head experts in the building?
Meanwhile, the other largest College Basketball Sham-Wow, Not-re Dame got their heads handed to them on a platter at UCLA.
Get that weak- sheet out o here!!!!

Bilas, Knight and Company were pretty critical of Gonzaga during the course of the game. Of course there wasn't much to be complimentary about. Still, Gonzaga does have the talent to make a run, and there is still plenty of time for them to get focused and committed, which I think is their biggest problem. Few could be getting some sideways looks if he isn't able to get this team motivated.

The problem with that argument is that the West Coast Conference is inferior to the A-10. And they went to Southern Illinois a couple years back.

Gentlemen, understand this.
B-Espn is most very probably pissed at the A-10 for signing a deal with a competitor- CBS College Sports. B-Espn gives the A-10 the absolute minimum coverage that they can and very few props.
Xavier will have to make a Final 4 at minimum or win a National Championship before Gameday would ever show up in Cintas.

It was the biggest game nationally on a Saturday. That's why they went to Gonzaga. Xavier doesn't have anybody at home next year that could bring that kind of hype (even if we're top 10). I could see them coming in 2010 when Wake comes to town if both teams are highly ranked.

You don't really get how College Gameday works, do you?

I was thinking the same thing.

Well, last year Xavier had a great non-conference game with Tennessee scheduled. No doubt the best national game on that day. But....
No College Game Day and even worse, the game wasn't even scheduled at night in prime time. It was early afternoon on a Saturday. Finally they had an amateur crew with Gottlieb and the former Vermont coach doing his first game as a color analyst. Not much respect for Xavier.

Well, Georgetown played Memphis that day and they were both Top 10 teams and Texas played Michigan State that day, so you couldn't say it would be without doubt the best national game on that day. Also, the Duke-Xavier game was an afternoon game and that was on CBS. Having an early game is not necessarily a slap in the face. How do you think ESPN should work? Xavier should just always be on ESPN and get the best commentating teams, regardless of what game the execs think will draw the largest national ratings? Cuz I'm totally down with that.

And just to clarify, College Gameday does not start until after the new year every year. The Tenn-X game was before Christmas so Gameday wasn't anywhere that day - the show hadn't started for the season yet.
