Records: Xavier 6-1 (3-0 MCFC); Marquette 0-7 (0-3 MCFC)

THe Xavier Musketeers earned their 2nd consecutive Midwesten Club Football Conference Championship with a dominating 37-6 victory over the Marquette Golden Eagles last Saturday at Withrow High School.

Chris Greenwood was 9/17 passing for 206 yards and two TDs. CJ Moreland had 61 yards rushing and two TDs and wide-receiver Craig Hallman had four catches for 98 yards and a TD. Hallman was also 5/5 on extra points and had a 61-yard punt that pinned Marquette against their goalline in the first quarter.

The Musketeer defense was led by LB Brett Hoyer (10 tackles); DB David Pergolini (9 tackles, QB sack, 2 pass break-ups); DB Andrew Bodziony (8 tackles); LB Phil Migitz (7 tackles, 2 pass break-ups, one INT); and DB Eric Miles (7 tackles, one INT, one pass break-up, one blocked kick). Miles also caught a 45 yard pass and returned a punt 61 yards for a Muskie score in the first quarter.

The XU Club Football Team closes out their 2008 MCFC Championship season with a non-league game against the University of New Orleans Club Football Team next Saturday (November 15th) at Roger Bacon HS Stadium. Kick-Off is set for 12:00 noon

Nice job by the Muskies. What is the nearly 500 pound guy's name?

I Believe you are talking about number 72!! That would be Jon Bokar....

No playoffs. Sorry I did not go to the game but it appears that you did. Curious as to what you thought.
Jon Bokar is no.72 and attented Cleveland St, Ignatius but I do not believe that he played football for the Wildcats. A junior, Bokar, has been with the club team since its inception mostly playing defensive line.
