There will be a panel of political experts on XU's campus this morning discussing the upcoming election. Whatever your political bent, I think the discussion and insights will be interesting. Donna Brazile and Joe Trippi will represent the Democratic side, with Mike Murphy and John Kasich from the Republicans. The panel discussion is from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm in Cintas. The public is welcome to the event.

Since most will not be able to attend the event, live streaming video of the panel will be available online. You can find the video link on the program's web site: www.xavier.edu/campaign08 (http://www.xavier.edu/campaign08).

Thought this might be of interest to the political crowd on the board.

These things were poorly attended during my time at X. I'll try to catch it online though.

Why were Snipe and DC Muskie not invited to participate? This panel lacks credibility.

The panel was very good, even without Snipe and DC.

I was invited but they wouldn't guarantee that I would have the last word, so I passed. Plus Snipe would overwhelm me with web sites. I would be left to saying over and over again "The Wealth Gap is Increasing! The Wealth Gap is Increasing." And trust me, no one wants to see that.

Now if they would have a forum on the Kansas State Series, I could do that.

Turnout was strong - filled almost all of the 600-700 seats in the banquet center. The panel was in good form and good humor, so the dialogue was very positive.

Wait a minute...you mean the discussion did not crumble down to a left/right pissing/name calling match? Freakin weak

The K-State panel would be awesome. In fact, we should do a whole day XU symposium:

8:30-9:00 -- Registration and Breakfast (catered by Sugar and Spice)

9:00-10:30 -- K-State: Good for the profile or deal with the devil? (Moderator: DC Muskie)

10:30-10:45 -- Break

10:45-12:15 -- Ron Everhart: An Appreciation for the A-10's Greatest Coach (Moderator: The Nameless One)

12:15-2:00 -- Three-martini lunch

2:00-3:30 -- A10 Contraction -- Should we kick out Fordham, St. Bona, LaSalle, AND Duquesne? (Moderator: Muskie Nick)

3:30--5:00 -- The Football Bearcats' March to the BCS (Moderator: Fred Garvin)

*All in good fun, fellas. :D

That is excellent work JDM. I want to make my reservations early.

We need a home and home deal with West Virginia!

The saddest part is I would attend each of those panels just for the chance to talk Xavier basketball....

There's another option for the 10:45-12:15 slot:

"Staying On Topic and the 'New' Grammar (Moderator: _LH)"

You'll need that three martini lunch afterwards, I'd wager.

I would agree to be the moderator of an A-10 Contraction panel only on the condition that I could provide charts and discussion illustrating each of my proposed 3,276 Xavier league alignments that I have posted on this and other sites and only if there are huge, muscular attendants posted at each entry who would physically remove anyone who would question my suggestion of Creighton being a member of a future Xavier conference.

I only get an hour and a half? Have you people not met me????

There should be a graphs and charts showing our decline in the last 15 years as a program.

I will bring my charts and graphs that shows DC Muskie's charts and graphs are wrong.

Is there a discounted rate if you don't go to all the panel discussions??? I would skip out early on the UC football panel in order to beat traffic
