Aug. 21, 2008

CINCINNATI - Join Xavier Athletics as it hosts Musketeers Fan Fest presented by Skyline Chili on Saturday, October 18. Fan Fest, an interactive fan entertainment event located on the plaza outside of the Cintas Center main entrance, will be part of the University's Family Weekend and signifies the official start of college basketball season.

The event will include coneys from Skyline Chili, ice cream from Trauth Dairy, interactive games, autograph and photo opportunities with the men's and women's basketball players, ticket info, merchandise kiosks, food and beverages, great prizes and more. A new 20' inflatable mascot, identical to the new Musketeer secondary logo, will also be unveiled publicly for the first time at Fan Fest.

The public celebration will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will precede the Musketeer volleyball teams' match against Rhode Island at 5:30 p.m. As part of the weekend's festivities, admission to the volleyball match will be FREE.

Fans will also have an opportunity to pick their season ticket seats for the 2008-09 season and for years to come. With season tickets available for as low as $250, the "Select-A-Seat" event allows fans to purchase tickets on the spot, and test drive their new seats for Xavier basketball.

Highlighting Fan Fest will be an appearance by head coaches Sean Miller and Kevin McGuff. Both will introduce their teams and speak about the season ahead. The men's and women's basketball players and coaches, who will be wearing the new X-shirt, will be available throughout the event to sign autographs, take pictures and discuss the upcoming season with fans of all ages. Highlights include inflatable interactive games for children, a live remote from 94.9 FM The Sound, and the PowerAde Rock Climbing Wall.

Two private invitation only programs will also begin at 2 o'clock. New this year will be an exclusive basketball clinic for members of the Junior Musketeer Club. Members will join select coaches and players for a one-hour clinic that will take place on the Cintas Center court. To attend the clinic, members must respond in advance. Registration will not be taken on-site. Members may pick up their membership cards at this time.

Kids, grades K-8, interested in joining may call 513-745-3378 to register or may print an application to submit by fax or mail. Junior Musketeer Club applications must be received by Wednesday, October 15 at 5 p.m., for processing prior to the clinic. Information on the Junior Musketeers Club is available here.

The All For One will also host a private reception in the Joseph Club from 2-3 p.m. Members will enjoy a meet and greet with select members of both basketball programs.
