Looking to beat Big Brown. I dislike his trainer especially since he's a cheater! 72 infractions over time. And while the horse is very good versus this year's crop, I'm not convinced he's a super horse. On top of this, he will return very little and in horse racing that's not a good combination. How to beat him?

Everyone is looking at Casino Drive. But is he in the race? Last I heard he's awaiting x-rays and did not train today. I didn't like him on top anyway, although he won the Peter Pan there and must be respected.

I've Denis of Cork since the Derby and have been waiting for him and the Belmont. Must include in the mix. I'm really warming up to Icabad Crane. I'll include him..Tale of Ekati and Anak Nakal should be reviewed.

So what to do? A tri and super box including Icabad Crane, Denis of Cork, Casino Drive and Big Brown. If Casino is out I'll look closer at the next two (of course I'll be looking at them anyway).

Any thoughts?

When Big Brown said, "See Ya" at the last race, he looked pretty special to me, but I totally agree with you about his trainer. What a prick. He is the poster child for what little regard racing has for most of the horses in the game.

The only way Big Brown loses, is if Desormeax does this again - http://youtube.com/watch?v=pIRP4UbrCg8

Is the layoff between the Preakness and Belmont always three weeks? I recall it being two weeks.

Was anyone else excited that Big Brown did not win? I think I was the only person in America who was against this horse.

I don't follow horse racing, but it was my take that there were quite a few people that didn't/don't like his owners. The triple crown is tough to win.

I bet against him, so I'm glad he didn't win. Of course, I didn't bet on Da Tara.

Big Brown always came across to me as too cocky (the way he trotted to the starting gate and refusing to give interviews with the press).

And he will soon retire. What happened to the work ethic of a Seattle Slew or a Secretariat.

There will never, ever, be another Secretariat.

I worked hard to beat him. He's a nice horse (and a great horse against this year's horses) but nothing special in terms of GREAT horses. i was trying to beat his connections. Dutrow is a cheat and the owners are investors, not true horsemen.

And while I didn't not get the superfecta, I did have a saver bet with the winning exacta that paid for all my other betting exposure as well as my beverage consumption. All in all, a very good day. :D

That was my problem with Big Brown. Some analyst on ESPN, I forget who, was ready to crown Big Brown as one of the greats. Is it the best 3 year old this year? Of course, which is evident. But I do not think it would even rank close to the Top 20 ever with a Belmont win. Even if it did win the Belmont I could think of probably 10 horses off the top of my head that did not win the Triple Crown better than Big Brown. I hope Big Brown runs in the Breeders Cup so I can see a horse like Curlin just work it down the back stretch. It faced crap competition. I rooted against it just because I did not want people to think that this horse was some kind of god when in reality, it was just the best 3 year old in a very, very bad year for 3 year olds.
