Here's a report that Ford has turned down the Providence job. If so, great for the A-10. We need to keep strong coaches in the league.

Good for him. I'm a big T-Ford fan.

I like this just for the sheer fact that the Providence job sucks. I hope the A-10 keeps it coaches but if they are going to leave, at least leave for a better job.

Maybe the tide of coaches leaving the A-10 is turning.

Providence doesn't suck one bit.

But I'm glad Ford stayed at UMASS. They've been starting and stopping for too long and the A10 needs some consistency in who the head coaches are to keep advancing.

Nope, it doesn't. It is a top tier job, for sure.

Providence is the St. Bonnaventure of the Big East.

They have anal leakage?

I do not get the big deal about Travis Ford. He has blown great chances at the NCAA Tournament the past two years.

Some semblence of coaching continuity is very important if the A10 is going to compete for maximum tourney berths. Ford just getting UMass back in the tournament conversation has been a huge improvement. Great news for the conference, imo. On the other hand, Providence isn't the type of job you leave UMass for, unless the coach just needs a change of scenery as was the case I think when Pete left X.

I think T. Ford is good for UMass and good for the league. I am glad that he is staying. He has his work cut out for him next year. He does return some talent.

Or maybe not

OSU is probably a better job than Providence.

I would agree judging by the fact that it is better pay, bigger school, better facilities, and OSU has the ability to win the Big 12 or at least compete for it. Providence will never win the Big East barring a complete miracle.
