Need this one BAD.

Win please. Pretty please.

The only reason I think X stands a chance is the Cintas. Creighton is just such a mismatch issue for X. The first two wars will be huge, you absolutely need to keep this thing close and hope the home crowd can be the difference. I think Creighton will be the team that goes furthest in March from the BE.

It’s March 1st and x is still in this thing. It’s been a bit.

X -2.5. Lets get it done!

Win this one (and don’t get beat by the remaining bottom dwellers on our schedule) or win the BE tournament. Those are the only two paths to the Dance.

Would love to see Hugley out there for a bit to play some d on kalk. I think he’s our best option on him

Xville

Not the best d to start. Giving up a lot of wide open 3s

Was great being up 40-22 but was disappointing on that great D possession the jump ball led to a 3 for them

Great 1st half to lead by 15 though

D was absolutely outstanding the last 16 minutes. Creighton will make a run, just gotta stay composed

Yep. D needs to keep it up. They shot 25% from 3 in the first half. Can’t let them get hot from deep.

Up 20 this is great it is just too damn bad losing that 16 point 2nd half lead at St John's had Xavier won that it be all over this team would be punching its ticket today instead still more work to do. Winning on the road is never easy.

Kalkbrenner should be paying real estate taxes, he’s in the lane so long.

Correct. Don’t let butler win their Super Bowl and let all this go for naught. Keep the pedal down

We're all getting old when jerseys from The Run in 2004 are now throwbacks. This was a helluva game to reintroduce them. Jerseys were also reminiscent of the legendary West v. Korver duel during the 2002-03 season.

Turned out that the early 3s from Creighton were fool's gold. Kalk had his numbers for the Jays, but Xavier defended Ashworth a lot better and made him work for the few shots he did end up making. X also had a 4-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio; much better than what they had in the first matchup in Omaha.

Now it's time to get a sweep of Butler. Can't afford a letdown after today's fantastic effort.

Xavier

I absolutely love those Jerseys. Great game. Fun environment. Can’t tell me this team hasn’t taken huge steps over the course of the season in a classic Miller way.

One glaring weakness…..Swain. That was hard to watch, he will really need to work on at least a consistent 15 footer. If teams play him like that he’s got to watch film on how Jackson was still a force for UConn while teams dared him to shoot.

Very good effort especially after letting that 22 point lead evaporate on that Creighton second half run. Muskies didn’t fold and responded for a solid win. Defense was stellar. Maddox was huge in first half; and Free was very good in the second half as he hit several key baskets. Conwell was special and he wasn’t about to let X lose. This team very well could go dancing as it has exhibited considerable toughness down the stretch.

I was watching him in pregame warmup and he was draining 3s with ease. That’s probably why he was shooting them in the game. Clearly, it didn’t transfer.

He was wide open, I’m fine him shooting it. Wanted him to. It’s the 12 footers he kept missing that bothered me. Absolutely needs to be a threat next year.

Loved the X gonna give it to ya during the pregame hype video.

McDermott’s take on the game. He thinks highly of this Xavier team.

Heard on the broadcast yesterday that he is 25 years old, been married 4 years, and has a kid. Man, how things have changed. (Not the kid part :( )

Hell of a win yesterday. Hope the emotion and intensity is still there against Butler. That has all the makings of a trap game. You’re coming off a huge win. You beat Butler by double digits a few weeks ago. They’re an under .500 team. It’s Senior Night for them.

Before you go down that road, Zach/Jerome are at least 24 and Dante/Marcus are at least 23. We are the oldest team in the NCAA.

Really fun game - our crowd did a great job wearing white - we don't need free shirts! Everyone played well, including Hugely - his defense in the first half was key to building the lead & let Freemantle be fresh for the second half.

Hopefully that game is a wakeup call for Swain. It had to be a little embarrassing. Use that one as additional motivation to turn yourself into a monster next year.

Man some rough critic on young Dailyn. Yeah his shooting numbers sucked, but doesn't the other half of his game....the 7-5-3-1....0 turnovers make up for it? He did score 10, so add the 5 assists and that accounts for 20 points in old school math. I think at least 1 of his dimes was for a "3". I think we scored points off of his 3 TOs also....getting ready to re-watch now.

His midrange needs a lot of work, but I have been surprised ALL SEASON how many " bunnies" he has missed DIRECTLY AT THE RIM.

Whenever a team can stay 6 feet off of anyone that isn’t a center, it becomes a problem. He does a ton- his emergence to go with Maddox is how this team goes from looking rough early to being top 25 good lately. Swain is a net positive, my criticism was more for next year.

X had a week off to rest and get refreshed and focus on Creighton. X's defense was superb for many stretches in first half. Now X has 3-4 days to rest for Butler. Can X repeat that intense defense again Wednesday?

I hope.

If they fully understand what is at stake, then they should make it happen. I’m sure Sean is laying it all out for them.

Time to get used to focusing for all 40 minutes and treasuring every possession.
