Just saw this on the news this morning

High school BB tourney today at BB&T Arena on the NKU campus.

The noon game is Covington Catholic v Oak Hill Academy

Cov Cath features a 7-footer that just transferred here from Evansville and is considered the top big man in NKU and one of the best in the state. However, most of their team is going to be playing in the HS state championship football game today and hasn’t started BB yet.

Oak Hill is, well, Oak Hill Academy...always one of the top 5 in the country and filled with tons of top recruits.

May not be a real competitive game but certainly an opportunity to see some real talent.

OHA ended up winning by 10 but it was close, 1-2 possessions until midway through the 4th quarter. The big kid from Cov Cath is only tall. He makes Miles look like a physical specimen. Didn’t start and didn’t play much. But they do have a 6’5” freshman, last name of Stark, that is going to be a player to watch. Didn’t score a whole lot against the OHA front line, but rebounded well and has a real good set of hands. Good way to kill a couple of hours waiting for the real game to start.

The Stark kid is the son of former Buttcat Keith Starks. I have heard he is good.

The 7-footer on CovCath who moved from Evansville is the son of Sascha Hupmann, who played for Evansville against Xavier when both were in the MCC.
