I'm in Nashville for a few days. Anything I need to see or anywhere I have to eat?

If you had said Chattanooga, I could have helped.
As it is, maybe Atl/Music City Muskie will read your request.

My son lives there and we're shopping for a place there. If you're a carnivore, Texas de Brazil (210 25th ave N just north of Vandy and just east of the Parthenon) is a ridiculous feast. If you have portion control issues, stay away!

Pucketts downtown is so popular it's hard to get a seat. Nearby is Etch, which I haven't been to yet (closed last trip... Sunday?) but my wife says it's amazing.

My son's best friend in Nashville plays at Tootsies. Mostly the morning beer drinking tourist crowd so far, as he's the "new guy". Broadway has all the honky tonks. I have zero interest in country music, but we do love that town.

I'm almost scared to google what that is.

I recommend the upstairs at merchants if you're into steak and good drinks.

Great town. I'm still missing a pair of pants from my last visit.

Probably best to go straight to Urban Dictionary for that one.

If you are a country music fan, you can usually get tickets to the Grand Ole' Opry fairly last minute if there aren't big names there. Even if you aren't a big country music fan, it can be a fun atmosphere. While you are there, go take a walk around the Gaylord Opryland Resort. It's basically an indoor botanical garden. They have an island inside of a little canal and pond system with some fun shops too.

I recommend trying Nashville chicken. I think most KFC's are now offering the product.

It tastes just like Nashville, you will love it!

Again, one guy from my wife's team at work spends about 10 days/month in Nashville. He was trying to impress her and took her to Etch. She was impressed. Tried to go on our last visit but they were closed on Sunday. I hope to make it there on my next trip.

I'd checkout the Gulch if you want to get away from Broadway.

Biscuit Love is awesome there- 100% worth the long line.

Thanks. I am here for a few more days. I'll try these places out.

Also be prepared to pay to use the Men's Room. It has an attendant.

For a good cheap sit down meal go to Demo's downtown, just off Broadway. Steaks and Italian food that won't do any damage to your wallet.

There is nothing that irritates me more than bathroom attendants. Especially if it's not a 5 star place. I can get my own damn soap and paper towels thank you.

I liked Layla's on Broadway. Tiny place. They had different rockabilly bands when I was there instead of the commercial country that was everywhere else on the street.

It's especially annoying in a dump like Tootsie's

Call me a bad person, but I just walk out without tipping in places like that. I'm never going to see that person again (unless it is on my second trip, in which case they graciously let me get my own damn soap).

If you're a bad person, that is not why. Who thinks that strange man lurking in the bathroom seeking cash is a good idea? Seriously?

Just don't wash your hands and walk out like 95% of other males in the bar. You really give these people money?

I hate it, but I tend to give those guys a buck on account of them having the worst job in the United States.
