Thoughts and prayers going out to the family of the Cincinnati firefighter who lost his life this morning, and to the firefighter who sustained 2nd degree burns, while fighting an apartment fire.

Having several friends who are firefighters, I know these losses to their fellow brethren anywhere, hits home. They do something that requires far more bravery than what I possess.

Prayers have been sent.

That's awful. Dangerous work. Prayers sent.

It sounds like he died while trying to rescue some people. That's heroic.

My late stepdad was a Cincinnati firefighter so I have an idea what they go through. Prayers are sent.

Thoughts and prayers to the firefighter's family along with all of the brave men and women of CFD (including our resident firefighter PMThor). I just wish we didn't need tragedies like this to appreciate all of their fine efforts.

A friend of mine who is retiring from CFD this summer just told me he was classmates in the Academy w/ the fallen officer. Really sucks. Prayers go out to his family.

I worked with Daryl on and off my entire career, he was a good guy. I have no other words really, just pretty much in shock right now. Thanks everyone, please keep his family in your prayers. Sadly it was 12 years almost to the day that Oscar Armstrong died, and now we have to bury another one of our own.

Yep. Prayers and sympathies to Daryl's family, and to Thor too.

We have enough relatives who are cops, and enough friends who are first responders to know that, like at Xavier, a loss is a loss from the family.

Everyone feels the hurt.

Prayers and condolences to those that knew him. It sounds like a great loss for all of Cincinnati.
