highlights showing games being on fox sports one tonight. schedule doesn't show any on uverse and fox sports go app is blocking me from watching. same thing last night for nova/creighton. highlights showed fox sports one in upper corner but nowhere to be found to watch. wondering if they became regional at the end of the season?

I think someone said FS1 and uverse were having some sort of dispute and that's the reason why they're blocked out. Don't quote me on that though.

Correct. Uverse and FS1 are in a dispute about the fees to carry Fs1. So until it's resolved Uverse is showing alternate Fox Sports programming (the same dart tourney over and over again) instead of Big East basketball.

hopefully they come up with a deal soon. i like uverse but not getting my games is a deal breaker for me. they already cut fox sports ohio outside of the ohio market a few years ago because at the time they didn't have a full time hd channel. i really don't want to go to time warner.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. I'll be furious if this isn't resolved by the Big East tournament. Really don't want to go with Time Warner. I'd go with DirecTV, but don't think I can at my apartment. Google Fiber is rolling out here, but not available in my neighborhood yet, but as soon as it is I'll be switching to that.

Check with you leasor. I have been in 2 apartments that didnt allow DirecTV and 2 that have. I love DirecTV for the most part (mostly due to NFL ticket) and while it isnt issue free, when I have had issues their customer service/support teams have been 10 times more helpful than TWCs were. I wil never go to TWC again for anything, not TV or internet. F em.

Yeah, I think I'd rather "cut the cord" than go back to Time Warner.

Ok, I don't get this. I'm not at home, but am getting FS1 programming through the Fox Sports Go app....and Uverse is my provider.

If there is a dispute, how come I can still get stuff with an alleged "blocked" provider?

they are only blocking the content that is being blocked to uverse. pac 12 games were on last night. it's unfortunate the big east tourny is going to be a casualty to this ugh!

FS1 is still available on UVerse, but they are blocking certain live events. So far UVerse has blocked Big East Basketball games and some live Nascar events. I believe UVerse's story is that FS1 is trying to make UVerse pay more money to carry those live events. So whenever there is a Big East basketball game, UVerse is showing a Darts tournament instead. Not sure why the Pac 12 games weren't effected by this though.

I hate this because i have had uverse going on two years now and have absolutely loved it. They do this to the big east tournament though, and I would need to reconsider my options. No way in Hades am I going back to the devil company that is TWC, and the wife is against satellite....so I'd be kind of stuck.

Is there anyone here that has completely cut the cord? My main hesitation in doing that is sporting events....

The only thing I can think of is that the PAC 12 deal was part of the legacy Fox Cable/Sports contracts, so Uverse can't mess with those games.

In line with some people's comments about Comcast and Time Warner (I see the former is getting ready to by the latter) here's an interesting approach from the city where I was born and raised.

That's crazy.

So, from the sounds of it Fox gave UVerse an option of being able to carry FS1 under the same agreement they had with the Speed Channel. UVerse took that option, but in the fine print there was mention of certain programming not being available to UVerse unless they paid more for it, which they don't want to do.

I'm kinda with UVerse on this one. Now, if I had UVerse I'd still want them to pay the fee even though it's not entirely fair, but it's Fox that's opting to block the programming, not UVerse.

Well, at least tomorrow is on the regional Fox networks so no problem there. Also, no problem with Fox Sports 2.

Wonder if they might wind up showing BE Tourney games on Fox College Sports channels?

Probably not, because if Fox is trying to stick it to UVerse, they're not going to move the tournament to another channel that will enable them to broadcast it.

this is dumb.

So, again, Fox Sports is not allowing UVerse to carry it because they feel UVerse owes them more money to carry specific programs on the channel, and UVerse disagrees.

A PLAGUE ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES!!!

I'm no fan of ESPN or ABC, but you don't see these kinds of disputes with them and the major carriers. With Fox, it happens about once a year. Maybe more.

Well, you see it all the time with CBS and these carriers. Also ESPN rapes the carriers at $5.75 per subscriber. They apparently can get away with it, though. Fox Sports 1 is actually pretty low.

Network Subscriber Fee (monthly) Number of homes (thousands) Annual Revenue (millions)
ESPN $5.75 94,500 $6,521
ESPN2 $0.74 94,500 $839
ESPNU $0.21 74,579 $188
ESPNEWS $0.23 74,413 $205
TNT $1.28 95,400 $1,465
TBS $0.63 96,700 $731
Tru TV $0.10 90,771 $109
Fox Sports 1 $0.68 84,900 $693
Fox Sports 2 $0.16 36,062 $69
NBC Sports Network $0.27 81,500 $264
CBS Sports Network $0.25 53,000 $159

Yeah, it doesn't work for iPad and I don't know of a good ad-blocker for it.

Other and probably better option is getting the cable/satellite login from someone who doesn't have Uverse and just stream on FOX Sports Go (http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/).

talked with an agent on wed and she told me i shouldn't even be getting the station. she started reading off something that i had seen online about not wanting to pass the cost onto customers. i told her that was crap and they were just as greedy, as other cable outlets didn't have any issue. to be honest she was little help. didn't even seemed concered that i was willing to cancel my service. she asked me when i wanted to cancel... my only other option is time warner ugh!!!!!

Just curious why your wife is so against satellite??? My brother in law was the same way but now that we finally convinced him to go to Directv he said he would never go back again. I love, love, love Directv. We've had it since it became available in Cincinnati and have never looked back. The reception is great and it hardly ever goes down. They also give us discounts all the time.

Well, her family had it growing up and it went out constantly....so that is her major gripe. My family had it as well growing up and we lived basically in the middle of the woods and very rarely had a problem. There is really no rhyme or reason to it, but it seems like it doesn't hardly go out ever for some and others it goes out all the time. I'd be willing to switch based on what I hear about their customer service, however the wife just won't. And....I have to pick my battles :)
