I think this was on ESPN yesterday. I feel bad for this kid. Nice crossover to get to the bucket.

Wow that is crazy.

How long do you wait to see if it falls before it is a jump ball?

that was at end of the game and time expired so game was over but that is a good question

Yeah but that still applies right as the shot is still technically in the "air" waiting to go in.

Seen a lot of middle school basketball.

Nothing like that.

It's not int the air if it's laying on the back plate, time expired and the ref waived it off

That logo on the wall has got to be the scariest logo I've ever seen.

Eh, there has to be some sort of time component. If it was on there for a second and rolled in even though time was up it would have counted. It would have been part of the shot. The ball doesnt have to go through the hoop before time expires for a basket to be good. It was waved off because once it was determined it wasnt going anywhere that is a jump ball and and since the time was expired the jump ball didnt matter.

Maybe once the ball comes to a complete rest thats when they call jump ball, maybe doesnt matter how long, just that it is at a complete rest?

Good thing that it happened in the last few seconds instead of early on! How long do you want to watch a bunch of middle school kids jump up trying to get some rim? Eventually a pyramid might form. A nice little social experiment, I think. Not much of a basketball game...
