Thanks. That did not help.

Did he make the free throw?
But ya, Dez was supposed to be our boy - the poster child of Chris Mack's new regime. Such a shame he had to leave X at all, let alone under the conditions that he did.

Ladies and gentlemen your #6 nationally ranked Xavier Musketeers!
Starting at point a 6'3 185lb Jr. Semaj Christon. At the shooting guard a 6'4 200lb Jr. Remy Abell. At small forward a 6'5 230lb Sr. Dez Wells. At power forward a 6'10 230 lb soph. Jalen Reynolds. At center a 6'10 unknown weight sr. Matt Stainbrook!

There have been a lot of what ifs at Xavier. What if Brown stayed the year JCrawford became eligible. What if Crawford didn't go to the NBA and had another year of Crawford, Tu, and Lyons. Those are all realistic- just can't say we would have gotten some of the recruits we did if Dez was still here.

It's also realistic to think we might not have gotten Abell. We don't know how Dez would have meshed with this unit or last year's unit either...
If talent were an issue with this team, I would lament Dez's absence more.

You're right it's not a talent issue. This team prior to the last few home games looked like they could beat anybody in the country at home. Amazing how this team has regressed. Before The Wooden legacy I thought this team would challenge Nova for a Big East Championship. Now they look like they are closer to 8th or 9th place.
There's more to it than talent. There's experience and confidence, too. We desperately need some confidence and a bit of brawl-free-swagger. You need all this to line up perfectly to make a run.

I miss a good head coach.
I miss good assistants.
I miss the Top 25.
I miss wearing white jerseys in the tourney.
And yes.......I miss Dez.
These last 3 years have sucked. Only looks like it will get worse every year.

I miss "Onions". I miss "Balls of Steel". I miss "Zip 'em up". So yes, I miss Dez. This team lacks intensity and doesn't appear to give a Sh!t if it wins or not. Until that changes, talent is irrelevant.
I sure hope this is related to lack of Senior leadership, and isn't indicative of a culture that still persists from the wake of the Shootout-punchout castration.

Fire Chris Mack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or wait to hear his pathetic excuses.
Lets keep hedging a fat, slow center who can't play defense!!!

It would be great to have Wells, but he ain't walking through that door.
Now we can talk about how we need kids like Wells and Holloway and Cage in the future, but pining for the past or some alternate future isn't helping anyone. Sorry for the rant but at some point we need to get past all the crap of the past few years.
In the words of one Norman Dale, "This is your team." Yes, I'm a sucker for Hoosiers quotes.

You just ruined a lot of retirement plans right there!

You really think they don't care if they win, I will give you the benefit of doubt tht you cannot be that dumb.

When Tre plays like he did today I don't miss Dez nearly as much.

That's what I looked like at the end of that game! But only at the very end. (I have a little Eyore in me too.)
Edit: I'll say that's how I felt at the end of the game. I don't want you people to recognize me out in public.

Philosophical question: When threads start including pictures of characters from Winnie the Pooh, is it the board that's gotten weird or just the posters on it?

The board is nothing but a collection of it's posters. Please, don't be a Pooh Bear.
(A little dilerium after a big win is healthy, especially after such a Pooh-ey loss)
