Man, some serious crying going on in that article. Bottom line: those otherwise at-large hopefuls didn't take care of business.

Couldn't agree more. I love how there is some implication that the tier system has hurt the conference because the lower tier teams didn't play good out of conference schedules and therefore had poor RPI's, but yet they defeated some of the top tier teams. Here's a novel idea if you're a top-tier team . . . don't lose to the bottom tier. Losses to Fordham and LaSalle (despite their "improvement") should not happen if you are an NCAA tournament team . . . period.

The only ones to blame for not getting more teams in the NCAA tournament are Dayton, St. Joe's, Rhode Island, Charlotte, and Temple...they shouldn't have lost to the bottom tier

Weird to put this is the same sentence...but the only teams that did their jobs correctly were Xavier (14-2) and St. Bonaventure (2-14)
