WASHINGTON, D.C. - No. 13 Georgetown's Brandon Allen, the BIG EAST's leading scorer, buried a penalty kick in the 96th minute to send No. 9 Xavier to its first conference loss of the season on a sloppy and wet Wednesday afternoon at Shaw Field. With the loss, Xavier drops to 10-4-2 and 4-1-2 in the BIG EAST. The result snaps a season-high and BIG EAST-leading unbeaten streak of nine consecutive matches. The Hoyas improved to 9-3-4 and 4-2-1 in the BIG EAST, beating XU for the first time in the all-time series.
The Musketeers will be back at home for a pair of matches to close out the season, beginning with a fixture against Villanova on Saturday, Nov. 1. First kick is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
On a sloppy afternoon, Georgetown held a 7-6 advantage in shots as each side earned a pair of corner kicks. Xavier held a 3-2 edge in shots on frame, but the deciding shot was the difference. The winning goal came after Xavier was called for a handball in the box to award a penalty kick to Allen in the sixth minute of overtime.

Tough loss, but it would have been tough to beat them on the road. Always sucks to lose in PK's.

Not quite PK's, just a penalty that was called for a handball in the box. Tough loss but if they bounce back against Villanova it will be fine.
