It has taken Walter Bunker decades to graduate form Xavier, but he's finally going to do it! Thought this was such an amazing story. Always good to remember how special Xavier University is even outside of our love for the basketball team. Below is a link to the full story. Loved this quote from Mr. Bunker..

“I had a friend in the service and he said, ‘You know we have the GI bill and we could go to school for free. The two most famous schools in the country are Notre Dame and Harvard. Why don’t you come up to Notre Dame with me?’ So I went to Notre Dame for a year and got very good grades, but I left because I thought Xavier was a superior school academically.”

Jeez, here I thought it took me a long time to graduate.

Me too. I was actually surprised at how willing the folks at X were to help me finish. I was very appreciative.

I love this. Way to go Walter!

I have a great respect for the WWII generation. They don't make men like Bill Guarnere and Don Markalay anymore. http://www.amazon.com/Band-Brothers-Regiment-Airborne-Normandy/dp/074322454X
