Is anybody planning on partaking in either of the Big East day events.

There is a pep rally on the square (July 1) from 11:30-1. then a Red's game with XU activities on the Fan Zone, a parade of Xavier fans on the field before the game, and discount tickets in the Moon Deck. ($15.75)

They tweeted today that only about 100 tickets remain in the XU block.

I'm in for the Red;s game and parade. Anybody else here participating in any of the events??

Going to the square and the game. I have season tickets so I didn't buy in the Xavier block.

I am going to walk down to Square at lunch. As for the game, probably not. Have too many activities in the evening.

Note that the Xavier seating block for the Reds game is sold out per a tweet from Xavier this afternoon.

ETA: Per Shannon's tweet yesterday, the Xavier seating block in the Moon Deck is sold out, and they started wth 1,000 tickets.

My seat is in section 141, Row U. (XU block)

HAPPY XAVIER DAY!!!

Note sure what all the festivities are on Fountain Square today. I'll probably stop by and check it out.

So I went to see what merchandise they had for sale and was kinda disappointed. One polo and one t-shirt and the t-shirt is very plain. You would have thought that they would have come up with something better.

I am ashamed I forgot the date. Off to the Square! (Do they have open container on the Square anymore? Cuz it's Monday and I got no place to be...)

The Reds game will be on ESPN tonight. I wonder if the ESPN baseball crew was told to downplay the Big East hype too. There should be a lot of Xavier blue in the crowd tonight.

I thought the same thing. The lady was trying to sell me the polo and I was wearing an almost idetntical Under Armour polo and thought not for $58.00, lady. I did buy the Gray shirt only becuase I have about 20 Navy Blue X shirts already. The were almost out of XL sixe in Blue t-shirts and I got there and 11:40 am. And they had no bags. Really? c'mon Xavier. I said Hi to Mack but left him alone. Took a picture for a classmate so he could be in the pic w/his kids and Mack. Was hoping for some free food. But got some free swag: a pen, a magnet, and a cup.

Yes it is irony that the reds usually play on Fox, and Big East Night is an ESPN game. Don't expect to see much of this from home folks. Get the to the ballpark!

I kinda liked the shirt they had that had an X and "Inaugrual Big East Season" on the front and a list of all the teams on the back. The polos were nice, but yep way too expensive.

Was a pretty cool setup. Some video crew from Xavier stopped and interviewed me; they were nice guys. Kids were shooting hoops, playing soccer, and putting golf balls with the players and coaches. I talked to Semaj and Dante briefly and got a few free items...cup, pen, coaster, magnets. There were a few lines were you could spin a wheel and win something a little more pricey like a t-shirt. I spun and got a keychain bottle opener with a light on it, not bad!

I'm ready for Musketeer Madness.

I cannot find anything on CincinnatiReds.com about tonight's Xavier-related festivities. ESPN conspiracy?!?

We are a group sales event. I don't think they make a big deal on their website when other groups have bought out the pre game festivities

They won't be on the 4-letter network locally anyhow; Fox Sports Ohio always gets coverage locally. I'd imagine they'd be more than happy to mention the mass Xavier contingent tonight.

As for the Reds' website, the only people who would lobby to not mention Xavier would be UC and the "American" contingent. They could care less about making the mothership happy.

I kid you not: they just sent a camera person to put us up on the video board. The camera person was wearing Fordham gear.

Yep, that's about Fordhams role in our party.

The hits continue: a fan in the Xavier block wins a prize package basically for knowing Xavier Paul's number.

So lets recap so far:

Xavier table in fan zone and they did something on stage while we were parading.

Then they had the parade. Then Xavier ROTC presented the colors

Then Mack and Waugh presented the line up cards.

Then we got on the video board, Xavier Paul was involved in a trivia question.

Still to come is promised the XU baseball team to lead us in Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

Have we heard what UC is doing?

Great night at the ballpark. Got some pics with the Xavier cheerleaders and Coach Mack with my family.
Proud to be a Xavier Musketeer.

I'm across the street in my apartment drinking some beer. One of the best things about this evening was seeing a group of pathetic looking UD fans leave the park in the rain a few minutes ago.

GLADDENGUY is a great American! Many mistake his frustration for hate....but the guy bleeds Xavier blue and always will!

Believe that! He will never trade his Xavier colors for anything!!!!

Does not surprise me to see his pics, he is about as big a Xavier fan as you will ever meet!

My daughter and I made it down there. It was a good night, and I think my girl was more happy that she got to play with the Mack girls for a while than anything that happened at the game. :)

Chris, Amy Waugh, Joe, and Byron were signing autographs at the Fan Zone, but there was not much turnout over there. I'm not sure that many knew that was going on, but it was very nice to see all of the Xavier Blue that turned out for the game, and the Reds won, which made that evening even better!

I was mingling in the fan zone when a Red's usher was collecting people for the parade, so I'm afraid I missed whatever went on up there. I suspect most people were waiting in the parade staging area. As I noted, when I had almost completed the lap of the field, it looked like some were just starting.

Have to admit that was probably one of the coolest parts of the night, walking around the field. How rag tag did it look from the stands. Matching shirts or at least people going under the concept of "parade" and not "photo opportunities".

Oh and hello to Xeus and XU2006 that I met at the game.

Wifey surprised me with Diamond seats, so I did not partake in the pregame festivities. Came home to a flooded basement, but it was well worth it.
