I'd really like to see a decent size X contingency at the Big East Tourney this year. So I'll be trying to put all the info as it becomes available. But in the meantime, I'm putting back a few bucks each paycheck so I can make my first BE tourney trip.

Some of the info I have gleaned from the good people at HolyLandofHoops.com.

Props to HLH pster QueRico for this info:
Newark is definitely the preferred airport. The subway doesn't come into play until you are in NYC.
You could leave the car @ a secure off-site facility for around $8/day w/ free shuttle to airport.
Fare is $5 to take the train to Newark Penn Station fr/ the airport. @ Newark Penn Station you can board NJ Transit or PATH light rail trains to NYC.
NJT trains go to New York Penn Station ($5), directly underneath MSG. PATH trains ($2.25) go to either 33rd St. (2 blocks fr/ MSG) or World trade Center.
NJ Transit: http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=HomePageTo
PATH: http://www.panynj.gov/path/maps.html
Subways: http://new.mta.info/
*** NOTE: Subways & PATH trains run 24 hrs. The last NJT train out of NYC is approx. 1am.
*** As confusing as it sounds, both the Newark & NYC train stations are "Penn Station". You don't ever want "Newark Broad Street".
*** MetroCards work on either the subway or PATH.

It looks like the Big East formerly required member schools to purchase all the ticket packages, which were then sold by the schools to their respective fan base. Apparently it has been historically very cheap to pick up the first couple of rounds for cheap on Stub Hub and that sorta thing.

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm definitely going this year - I'm gonna try to book my hotel/flight as soon as I know the dates of the tournament.

I've never been to the conference tournament but always wanted to. Now that I'm going to be living in Richmond, it will just be an easy train ride north to NYC, where I can stay with a friend living in the Bronx. Looking forward to going this year, absent conflicts that might arise.

The East Regionals are also being played at the Gardens, hosted by St. John's, March 28-30.
2nd/3rd round action the weekend before, March 20-23.
I think you can assume the BE tournament will be the weekend before that on...w/e March 13-16.

Probably have to wait to see if Fox wants the tournament Wednesday-Saturday or Thursday-Sunday.

There will be a private reception on March 12th for those who buy All-Seesion tickets from XU, prior to Jan. 15th.
Hope to see Xavier Nation in full-force!

Tournament is from March 12-15. It's a Wednesday to Saturday. I believe bottom 4 seeds will play on Wednesday at night. I've booked plane tickets and hotel already. Just deciding on what to do for tickets.
