C.J. Anderson (2007-2009): Scored 1,495 points in his college career (752 of his points in two years at Manhattan). Scored in double figures 22 times. His teams advanced to the Elite 8 in 2008 season and to the Sweet 16 in 2009.

Jordan Crawford (2009-2010): Scored 1009 career points (718 with Xavier in one season). His team advanced to the Sweet 16 before losing to K-State in spite of Crawford's best effort.

Andre Walker (2011-2012): In his sole season at Xavier he scored 190 points while grabbing 202 rebounds. He average just under 30 minutes per game. His Xavier team advanced to the Sweet 16 before falling to Baylor (I'm still partially blind from the uniforms).

Is this a real question?

I expect it to be a landslide... but it's day two of College Basketball's long Siberian Winter (Off-Season).

But they are 3 very different candidates. Do you take C.J. and the toughness that he instilled in the team (kicking myself for not putting Jamel McLean in the poll now actually)? Do Tu and Lyons progress without C.J.? C.J. is clearly the winner if you vote only based on twitter.

Do you take Crawford and the points?

Or Andre Walker who helped hold the team together after the UC/X game. That team doesn't make the Sweet 16 without Andre Walker.

Why did he wait two months to start holding?

I love me some CJ.

Definitely Crawford for me. Basically carried the team to a Sweet 16 and was one of the most fun to watch players I can recall seeing at Xavier.

Its tough not to pick Crawford but I went with CJ Anderson. He was a big part of the second round (the real 2nd round) Purdue win which ended in an elite 8 appearance against UCLA.
Crawford only stayed one year and his attitude was piss poor. I know Crawford was a better player than CJ and meant more to his team, mainly because CJ played with much more talent around him.....I just thought CJ was a great piece to a very solid team who had 5 average in double digits.
CJ loves Xavier and was a great player as well.....who gave his all. He might not represent Xavier in the best way sometimes via twitter....but I'm going with CJ.

CJ was the special sauce in the 2008 team.

Obviously if its just the "best" transfer its Crawford...but I picked CJ.

CJ added an element to X that we had not seen before, toughness. Before CJ I felt like X would get pushed around by the big boys in some games, CJ had that no fear junkyard dog mentality that helped push X over the hump. You cant teach the mentality he brought to X.

Also, I dont think Ive ever seen a player quite like him, he couldnt hit a jump shot to save his life but around the rim he was great. He was a PF stuck in a guards body. If you remember our game against IU he could not be stopped on the boards and a coming out party for him. If X was in a scoring funk he always seem to get them out of it. He is a perfect role player on a team with some talent.

Plus I like to see him now around Cintas getting drunk and tweeting.

I would like to have seen Jamel McLean or possibly Torraye Braggs in this poll as well. If you are doing recent transfers only, Jamel should have been included in this poll.

See if you can match each recent transfer big man with their Senior year stats.

Braggs is the best post guy X ever got on transfer. Undersized, he was just a warrior.

Braggs was a beast. I can't imagine what he would have been capable of with the type of talent we have now surrounding him.

Plus, he's the only one on the list to have spent time in the NBA.

And I'd have to say that Stan Kimbrough was just about the best non-post player we ever got as a transfer!

Xavier has not to this point has a player with the talent of Crawford, transfer or not. The accomplishments of the others will fade into the past. CJ will keep in the forefront as long as he keeps tweeting smack. Everybody will remember what Jordan Crawford did on the court. Even if they did not see it in person or live on TV (more's the pity) they will see him on highlight reels. I don't think there is any question.

Behind him I would put Jamel, CJ and Torraye.

Well, not as talented at guard-oriented skills. And Byron Larkin makes a hell of a case for himself. I think this "Semaj" kid will too.

Crawford was a unique talent, no doubt, but I think Semaj is too. I think Semaj was better as a freshman than Crawford was at IU. I think he's just as talented, if not more so, even though they are quite different players. I also think Semaj will be the better NBA player, when that time comes. Jordan Crawford was an absolute beast at Xavier, and was one of the most talented players in the country, but I have no reason to doubt Semaj will be prove to be a better overall player.

On that note, talent is a funny thing to try to measure. I mean Crawford did things that I haven't seen other Xavier players do. But honestly, so did Semaj. David West certainly did too. If Semaj develops a reasonably consistent jumper, I think his other areas of strength put him above Crawford in the discussions for most talented player and just best player.

I think hands down Crawford is the best transfer, talent wise. I loved CJ though, but Crawford really was a special player.

It's interesting to me to see the whole "CJ brought "toughness" to Xavier" attitude. I personally wonder what the difference was between his so called "toughness" and Mark Lyons and his b!tching? I thought both players had very similar attitudes, and I loved both of their attitudes, just interesting to me to see how the same people who criticize Lyons, love what CJ brought to Xavier.

I never heard any stories about CJ cussing out his fellow players and coaches on mulitple occasions.

Not when you consider that i had a different poll question with Lavender on the same day.

The question isnt who was the best transfer of all time. The question is who is the best transfer of the 3

All things considered, I think Lavender was the best transfer all time at XU with Crawford a close second. Had Crawford stayed another year, I think he would be tops but he didn't.

It depends on how you look at the question. If you look at it as strictly "who was the best transfer" it is clearly Crawford. It doesn't matter how long he was there. If you look at the question as which transfer did the most for Xavier than you are correct.
