Final Four darkhorses VCU and SLU on tap, plus Big Easter preview Butler-Marquette, and (cough) Arizona looking for return to Sweet Sixteen.

Seriously, Sean coughed EVERY time they showed him on the sideline. Dude needs an inhaler.

What was I thinking picking VCU and Memphis?
I know...the B1G has sucked for so long in the tournament I assumed they would again.

Good bye Josh Pastner and Memphis.

They were somewhat lucky to beat St. Marys and haven't beaten a "big boy" team all year.

Since they will be in a league televised by ESPN next year, I'm sure they'll be pre-season Top 5 and overhyped all year.

I don't know why I picked the Rams to Elite 8. Kicking myself.

I just thought VCU would hard to prepare for on a short turnaround. I guess not.

Great moments in NCAA half-time shows:

Sir Charles gets time for one question when they are interviewing the coach and long-haired guard from FGCU.

"Where the hell IS Florida Gulf Coast University?"

(caught them a little flat-footed)

Heard an interesting fun fact regarding Memphis today. Harvard was the only tournament team they beat in the regular season. Not exactly a challenging schedule.

Guilty as well. Their defense sucks you in to picking them.

Didn't beat a high major team all year. Barely played 'em....but little Joshy Pastner is a media darling.

Lyons gonna become the first player to go to back to back sweet 16s with different teams. He will probably go off tonight.
I will be rooting for beaknose and O-LIE-O state to crush Arizona and the desert raccoon cougher.

game observations - st. louis looks like absolute crap.

lyons has scored 43 points thus far in this tournament and on his way to another sweet 16.

Sure, ant this game he may have 25 pts on 11-15 shooting BUT HE ONLY HAS 2 ASSISTS! What kind of point guard is that?!

I'm pretty impressed by Jamie Dixon getting a 10 year extension out of Pitt after getting killed in the first round, and not making the tournament last year. Must have dared them to call his bluff.

I just thought VCU would hard to prepare for on a short turnaround. I guess not.

Michigan is built perfectly to destroy VCU. Great passing and don't turn the ball over. They will struggle more against teams with an inside presence who rebound well. Rebounding is their Achilles heel, although with Mitch McGary playing 30 mins per game that may improve.

UCLA footsteps.

Meanwhile, as my bracket blows up before dinner, I've got to listen to these guys bring up the brawl and Lyons being the only player with 3 sweet 16's.
But Chuck was on this team 2 days ago when one of the guys said Belmont would give them trouble. He laughed and said AZ would breeze through the first weekend. Chuck knows bball I guess.

Go Marquette. Keep tournament credits away from the A10.

Chuck knows whatever is on that piece of paper in front of him. I'm find his knowledge of college basketball minimal (although he has been better this year than two years ago).

I wonder how the Saint Louis fans are taking this beatdown. It's hard to be arrogant when your team hasn't been within single digits since practically halfway through the first half, but I'm sure they'll find a way.

I'm actually happy to see St Louis losing. Their fans were going on and in about how can you snub the national champion from the big east.

Butler is leading, we need Marquette to win firstly to reduce a10 revenue we are losing out on and secondly to present yet another final four they can rub in our noses.

Mitch Mcgary was fun to watch today. He flat out layed some VCU players out setting picks. Saint Louis had a good year, but I didn't feel comfortable picking them to make a run in the tournament. I think it had to do with the fact they were coachedd by Jim Crews. If Crews gets that job on a full time basis Saint Louis will become irrelevant again.

Seems to be working for him though. That kind of PG has found himself in back to back sweet 16s while being a major contributor in both.

UCLA footsteps.

Yeah, rumor has it, that job is open.

I'm a little sad for St. Louis fans, for that team that they've put together over the last couple years to never really come together for one reason or another, and probably never will, unless they make a great coaching hire.

Xavier has 2 elite 8's plus 3 additional sweet 16s.

That is all

Irrelevant. They have a guaranteed late night slot on ESPN...and CBS, for whatever reason, loves them.

To review - and I'm gong to have to go to confession after this for having non-catholic/ Christian vindictive thoughts.

1. VCU loses - great, they deserve it for trying to give Davis a concussion and for pressing and running up the score on a decimated team while up 45

2, St Louis loses - for their arrogant fans already claiming themselves national champions on their board.

3. Butler loses - no chance of them getting to run our noses in another final four.

Did I mention the three above us deprive the A10 of credits we won't get to cash

4. Gonzaga. shocked - no media daring status again.

5. Memphis exposed for the frauds they are. As Goodman said after our game with them "welcome to big boy basketball"

What a wonderful, wonderful tournament. Gonzaga, Butler and Cincinnati are all gone by Sat. night of the first weekend, plus Lyons has been tearing it up. I'm upset I picked OSU to win it all. I'm far more excited to cheer for Wichita St. and Arizona now. I guess I can look at it as a win-win.
