On the way home from work today i found out my father has throat cancer. He is my best friend, my partner in work and life and the reason I am a Xavier fan. Many, many years ago... back in the days of the gardens we were driving to somewhere unknown when the crosstown was coming on the radio. As a father son competition thing we would always choose teams and pick games. Being young and impressionable by the media instantly I chose UC, forgive me I was only like 4. After a few minutes of adult like discussion and rationalization he explained to me that Xavier, while a sleeper pick was a much improving team with this new guy named Byron Larkin. Needless to say I saw his points and went with X. After going to many games in the gardens X has and will always be my favorite. My father is an amazing man and he will kick this cancer's ass but a few prayers never hurt nobody. So everybody just give a little prayer for my father this weekend.

Prayers sent and will continue to be. I lost my father 19 years ago. I still think about him today- my original golfing partner.

Good luck to your father. He'll be in my thoughts.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Angel James is on the way and Angel Luke will join him as soon as he finishes his first mission which was very successful. Prayers of course will continue. God bless your dad and the doctors who treat him. Luke will also be watching over you and your family. :);):D

I'm sending this one your way too, brownlavender. Mel posted my favorite prayer as I have a very deep devotion to Our Holy Mother.

We might have lost this game but you will always have your dad. I hope you get to experience many more XU victories together.

I've got a soft spot for people who have great relationships with their dads. Mine got me into Xavier basketball from birth and we still text during every game. I hope and pray that your dad pulls through just fine.
